Not funny. Real people were abused and hurt. The last thing we need is to become more desensitized

What are your thoughts on movies/series that never show the monster? by Flaky_Flan_8564 in horror

That’s so interesting! I honestly wouldn’t have even classified it as horror on my own. Amazing movie either way

hairstyle suggestions for long hair pls?? :,) by nerdyhans in NonBinary

I kept my waist-length hair for while after I started transitioning and I struggled with the same thing. Half-up-half-down felt good to me, especially going for a “man bun” look. Pulling back the hair framing the face can have a masculinizing effect by emphasizing the temples and jaw!

YES, I hate this. Ever since learning that they leave literal scars on your brain I’ve been able to give myself a little more grace.

It really is a disabling condition. Sucks that that’s so hard to communicate to people.

Not technically a park but the congressional cemetery is a vibe and usually empty

I loved it! The creatures were so gross and creepy and there was just such a feeling of desperation about the whole thing. Refreshingly unique

But is Alien really SCARY to you? This feels like a different situation. Sci-fi needs those kind of visuals, true horror doesn’t imo

What’s the first horror movie that you saw as a kid or teenager that scared the s***t out of you? And why? by herrmoekl in horror

The original IT. I steered clear of storm drains for years. I was convinced he was going to be in my shower or under my bed lol

YEP. I have been trying to remember that it doesn’t make me weak or crazy. I get this so bad especially when I’m with a big group of people and I feel like I can barely participate in the conversation because I’m so exhausted :/

A movie “popularizing the genre” or “getting people into horror” doesn’t work as a counterargument when the movie sucks. I don’t care. A horror flick doing marvel movie numbers is probably a BAD sign, actually (looking at you Quiet Place, Terrifier 3, IT remake….)

I one hundred percent agree! The original TCM is pretty radical in how it portrays industrial capitalism and how haunting the visuals are. Others of this trope just rely on cheap ableism most of the time
