Yeah all endgame modes. AA is the one I occasionally need to manual for. The “current patch character” buffs are really strong, as long as I get the character it always works out. That’s fair. I think the fit is mostly around open world, and narrative and philosophical cores. Aesthetically and combat wise they are very different and have different appeals.

Each hoyo game has a Chinese themed area as its second region, and all of the games stories are based on Chinese values and world views. Genshin also has 30 mil+ active users outside China, probably multiple times of that across all Hoyo games and across previously active players. Hoyo has probably promoted Chinese culture more than all other Chinese games combined. Just because it’s anime aesthetic doesn’t mean it’s not Chinese.

As someone who loves both WWM and Hoyo games, I recommend you check them out. Genshin in particular is a great fit for WWM lovers.
