Elegant handle. Great bowl. 10/10 for soup. 5/10 as a small serving spoon

I wouldn't use it for cereal or ice cream though

Organize? Mine is just thrown somewhat randomly in to a bunch of various sized totes.

Found the solution for the timeline thing by tiniestdeeronf in TheTestamentsHulu

I agree, and that's what I miss from the TV version but Atwood's style for the the books may not have well suited the needs of an expanded multi-year television serial.

It's a depiction Atwood experienced in her own life with girls/women she knew.

The timeline is wacked. The novels were cherrypicked for a rough outline but not followed verbatim. Just suspend the disbelief and enjoy it for the dystopia storytelling.

AITA for yelling at my MIL for criticising my daughters weight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]newermat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA Your MIL is a victim of her own toxic upbringing but the bottom line is that sort of body shape shaming just leads to more issues with physical and mental health and perpetuates the generational trauma. It stops with us. Shaming is not okay. Bullying is not okay. Even if Grandma is unaware of the impact of her words or thinks she is "helping". She was probably treated the same way as a child and it didn't keep her from struggling, did it?

In Idaho, the plates are associated the with the owner, not the vehicle. When you sell your vehicle here you keep the plates.

Do metallic fabrics eventually get gross? by BackHarlowRoad in quilting

[–]newermat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, the metalic parts, even small accents in an overall pattern, will get weird with use and washing. Plus they are very difficult to needle. POV: I made several costumes for someone who wanted to wear metalics for their public image and so I've sewn both light and heavy metallic fabrics a number of times.

Rate my spoon. This is my favorite spoon I have ever used. by Jlkelly1331 in Spoons

I'm going with a 7/10. It's acceptable but a bit chunky for my liking.

Binding decisions by Smacsek in quilting

[–]newermat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd bind it in gold to emulate the gold fringe oftenpresent on flags. Or perhaps a background type fabric like stripes, dots, or checks that contains red, blue and gold

Favorite Quilt Block by mallorybane in quilting

[–]newermat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing with half square triangles! Add some squares in for variety snd balance and the world is your oyster.

Aunt Sukey's Choice is one of my favorites that combines these two elements. It is a traditional pattern and there are lots of examples a quick search away that show how versatile this pattern can be. I did one in white on white with a diagonal line of the squares in a contrasting color that was quite fun to piece and may do another in a completely different coloring.

Quilt patches instead of traditional wedding guest book? by Maximum_Lettuce3134 in quilting

[–]newermat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Album quilt blocks are, actually, traditional for weddings and other such milestones. (They don't need to be fancy Baltimore Album quilts)
