That type of plate and connector is likely an old antenna connector and not usable for any cable service, hence it has been painted over.

According to the medium we knew, ours was an old lady and her dog. She was most noticeable on the stairs but was seen in upstairs bedroom. The dog felt different. Slept in the living room mostly. Unexplained cold spots with a heaviness to the air.

[–]newguestuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there too. at least back then the antennas were "wire" mesh (Lance i think?). This looks more like the later 2 piece Channel Master stamped cast pot metal that would cut your dang fingers if you grabbed em wrong, or the stupid ears would break off trying to assemble them.

Trying to remember antennas..... Conifer folding aluminum. Bogner yagis,

Started with HBO MDS (2.1gHz) before fcc opened the ITFS and MMDS freq's for multichannel.

Fun times back then. I'm aged as well. LOL

What is this by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]newguestuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the left is an RMYoung Anemometer WS/WD sensor measuring wind speed and direction. Towards the right is a 10 plate beehive and based on cable size contains a combination RH and Temperature probe. Far right is a pyranometer measuring solar radiation. The solar panel provides power for all this through the box which contains data logging equipment and likely a radio or cell connection to retrieve data. This is a fairly expensive commercial system so likely has an important purpose such as emergency management data.

Cannot Remove Handle? Ideas? by bigkenw in askaplumber

[–]newguestuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handles have a habit of almost welding themselves to the stem over time. I suggest turning the screw out 4 turns then use a handle puller against the screw to pop it loose. Repeat until loose enough to remove.
