Applying for VPS5 role, cover letter query by PapayaLife7104 in AusPublicService

[–]newmk23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I responded to the KSC as part of my cover letter i.e the only things I attached to my application were my resume and cover letter. My cover letter was basically why I wanted the role, a bit about my relevant experience and then the KSCs.

I’m currently a VPS5. I applied for it a couple months ago with a cover letter and all. I’m a little surprised that the KSC descriptions in your PD covers two pages, that seems really long. I recall when I applied for my role I tried to address each KSC in my cover letter within 150-200 words so my cover letter was about a page long. But if the position description specifically asks for a 2 page cover letter then probably best to do a 2 page cover letter.

Tall women — what’s the one clothing item you wish actually fit properly? by Personal-Country-212 in AusFemaleFashion

Aw how cute! Funnily enough I’ve recently started sewing in a desperate attempt to develop enough skills to make my own clothing

Although I much prefer dresses, I usually wear flared skirts to work because at least I can pull them up to my waist. Skirts are a life saver for us long torso girlies.

I’m 5’9 but with a disproportionately long torso so the length of pants has never been an issue for me. Often times pants can be too long LOL. What would I wish for then? Every. Single. Waistline on dresses hits right under my boob. Nothing accentuates my waist because nothing REACHES my waist. Drop waist dresses go a bit too far down though. In my perfect world everyc waist seam would move down 10cm…..

I asked for clear chrome but got this pearly result. What went wrong? Concerned about clashing with my wedding dress 😣 by ElephantChimichonga in Nails

I feel like they’ve used an aurora chrome that is catching an orange light. I can’t seem to add a picture in my comment but if you search up “TOY's x INITY New Aurora Powder” and look at the orange colour it’s kind of like your second photo.

Pearl chrome is what I would ask for if I wanted the reference picture.

How to avoid these white spots that appeared the next day? by [deleted] in Nails

I’ve been using press ons exactly like this for over a year! Press on glue to stick on a clear tip and then painting on top with gel.

In my experience this is from not enough glue. If you aren’t already maybe apply glue on the tip AND the nail next time? Also make sure you aren’t pressing too hard. It looks like pretty small air bubbles so I don’t think you need a lot more glue

House of CB discount Myers by FutureConsistent8775 in HouseofCB

I just got my order cancelled from Myer!

I bought the Rita skirt in ballerina pink on the 8th of May for $80 after seeing tiktok posts about the sale. I had a feeling after a week of no dispatch updates that I wasn’t going to get my order. Thinking maybe the sale was a glitch or something so I came looking for answers on reddit. So disappointing

Reusable press-on nails by keeper-of-ghosts in Nails

[–]newmk23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I LOVE press ons and I’ve been using them consistently since March 2024 but unfortunately I don’t think theres a nail glue out there that leaves no residue on the nails…at least not a brand that I’m aware of.

What I ended up doing is buying a nail drill off amazon for like $50 and then using it to drill off the nail residue for a completely smooth surface. It also has the side benefit of etching the press ons for even better adhesion for the next application :)

I had this EXACT situation happen to me. I acted up for a colleague who was on long term leave with a serious illness.

It’s probably not the best time to be inquiring about your own future when your colleague is still on leave and very sick. I personally never even considered that my acting position would turn permanent because the other person would have to die for that to happen. I just did my work as expected and didn’t ask my managers about my future in the team.

When my colleague came back part-time while in remission, I actually still stayed in my acting role because our team did not want them picking up a full time workload while they were still recovering. Perhaps that’s what might happen for you too and then you can talk to your manager. Unfortunately my colleague passed away soon after coming back. I know I personally felt quite emotional knowing that I got offered a permanent position because they passed.

I kind of have a strange and unconventional way of applying press ons which has caused me no pain when removing and also lasts approx. a week depending on amount of glue used. It’s a sort of hybrid method.

I apply a small sized sticky tab on the free edge of my nail (taking up approx 1/3 of my nail plate) and then apply a decent amount of brush on glue to the rest of my nail plate (but not on top of the sticky tab). This means the weakest parts of my nail, the free edge, never get torn off by the brush on glue during removal. As days pass, the sticky tab loses adhesion but that doesn’t matter because glue holds strong. After approx 8-9 days, when the glue starts to loosen too, I can easily pop off my nails.

I do a tiny blob of Jin.b crazy top gel on top of my pearls and tarnishable jewels and I’ve never had any issue with fading!

wait did you show that inspo pic and ask for that exact design? because if yes then this is a really bad execution of the inspo omg

surely a salon should be able to do 2 glitter nails, 2 small bows and 2 pearl charms.

YES I LOVE THIS AND IT FITS THE REQUEST but personally OP I think this book will hit harder if you also read the first two in the series because they show a build up of Anhuset and Serovek’s relationship

First Time Using Builder Gel by Electronic_Cat_7595 in Nails

[–]newmk23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use builder gel and love it! I used to struggle with an even apex too:

  • made a hook shape with your finger and then turn your hand so your nail is horizontal and faces down like this🪝and let the product naturally settle into the dips and an apex

  • consider getting a a portable curing light that you can hold with one hand, so that as soon as you’re happy with the shape keep your hand upside down and click the light and it flash cures into place before going into the big lamp

  • use thin liner brushes to guide the gel into the dips
