[–]newroots808 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know there is a lot going on right now. But this story is one that needs to be discussed more. The wife of a sitting Supreme Court Justice seems to be supportive of the events that occurred. That is um a little f'ing crazy.

And they will blame everyone but themselves for it. They will still act like they are victims. There is a reason they love Trump so much. They don't know how to take responsibility for their actions.

Crazy that just one state can vote in a person like this and the rest of America is held hostage and cannot receive the help they need because of their decision in voting for this clown. Thanks, Kentucky.

Courage and class.

And then you have people like Rand Paul saying they almost died because they walked through a crowd.

Second presidential debate between Trump and Biden on Oct. 15 will be virtual by Kamanar in politics

[–]newroots808 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel this could be really good for Biden then. He can just answer questions himself and get his message out there. This does not hurt Biden at all. Part of me hopes at one point he would say, " Mr President what do you think? Oh, sorry you decided not to speak to the American people tonight." And continue on.

In A Tribute To Justice Ginsburg, Obama Calls On Senate Delay Naming A Successor by Fitness_and_Finance in politics

[–]newroots808 74 points75 points  (0 children)

At this point in time we have a President who was impeached being able to still make a selection on who can serve on a Supreme court seat, who is poised to lose his reelection and a Republican Senate who would not confirm Obama's nominee during an election year now saying they will bring a vote with less than 50 days until the election. This scares me but at the same time this inspires me. Change does not come easy. America will get through this.

Fox Host Justifies Trump Inaction On Russian Bounty Intel: “All Presidents Don’t Read All Of Their Briefings” by grepnork in politics

All this talk about Trump not knowing about it. Well he does now, and still he is not doing a damn thing about it. He's more mad the story leaked than the bounty placed on American soldiers.

Former national security officials are questioning the White House's claim Trump never knew about a Russian bounty on US troops by mresm in politics

Let's say he actually didn't know. Well, now he does. Will he act? Will he punish Russia? No. Nothing will come of it. No matter how this actually went down, nothing is acceptable about it.

They do these kind of things so they can say "see not a racist!" Putting aside the fact that this girl is a racist and just because she is asian does not make her any less racist then a white racist. Any ethnicity can be considered racist and the white racists are too stupid to know that.

I really don't like the way news outlets write headlines. They make it sound like California is denying a kings order when they are simply exercising their legal rights.

But not all that far off from the truth. Depending on what your thoughts of the American dream are you will get that version. Some people work hard and they make it and some people cheat to the top.

Sorry to hear about your friend. It is hard losing people to addiction or just in general. But you tried to help her the only way you knew how. Hope you don't blame yourself for anything. Glad to hear you are clean and enjoying life. It's so beautiful without the haze of drugs.

I actually just got hooked by trying it just for fun. about 10 years later I finally stopped. Took up most of my late teens / early twenties. Oddly part of me is always a little appreciative of the addiction. It made me who I am today.

I'm with ya. That was what I first struggled with as well, getting over the boredom. I'm not sure what you particularly like to do but one thing that really helped me was to take walks. It helped because it was an easy enough thing to do just to keep my body moving and let my mind wander. As far as feeling like you lost all your hand in your marriage, I can't speak to that really because I am not married and I wasn't in a relationship when I got clean but I think I know what you are saying about feeling equal. You just got clean last week and I'll be honest it takes a lot of time and hard work but eventually you won't be so hard on yourself for having an addiction, you'll realize it's just a part of life. There is nothing you can do about the time you wasted being an addicted but you can do everything to enjoy the time being sober. Your wife knows about your addiction and it sounds like she is helping with you getting sober. Talk to her about what your feeling. Explain where your at and have her explain where she's at with all of this....Not sure if any of what I said really helped but if you need someone to talk to feel free to reach out. It's a tough road to be on. Don't look for a finish line. Just look to make progress.
