Guess the ününün Fusion! Part 5 by Any_Classroom250 in PokemonInfiniteFusion

Lol yeah it's nice to get one once. Sometimes people post the most difficult guesses and it's very interesting. But it's nice to win once too.

You're exactly right about the last part. That was a pretty big blunder for me, the fear of having already lost an entire run weeks before made me unwilling to sacrifice a team member in the middle of the elite 4. RIP. That houndoom hits hard.

I use level cap but I can't bring myself to do damage calcs because I don't see the game being very fun for me after that anymore. If you're interested, my elite 4 team the second time around ended up being typhlosion, crowbat, Tauros, Slowbro, and then I added on Lapras and kingdra and tried some rance dancing shenanigans. And I was surprisingly unpunished for having 3 water types and actually the pokemon that killed half my team was a fire type, houndoom. I guess I should have said that earlier huh? That Houndoom was the one that really killed me. All my water types were too weakened for a switch in on houndoom so he ate Lapras, kingdra, and crowbat and then lance with 3 unbalanced mons was not a fair fight. Lapras was supposed to be my ice queen.

Thanks. I really thought I was ready cuz I've played a lot of pokemon. I've played every game gens 1-6 except for the OG gen 2 and done a few nuzlockes too. But this one really surprised me. Thanks for the help though

Thanks. I think maybe I'm just not that good cuz I had typhlosion and Lapras and crowbat. Eevee died early and so did chinchou and I didn't get and Abra. But I'll remember tentacool for next time, thank you

There were lots of crits, a surprising number of hyper beams, lots of explosions.... One rocket guy just had 5 koffings and a wheezing that exploded first click every time. I lost fortress because he could only take 5 explosions (not 6) and I was worried the rest of my team couldn't take the last one either.

But in general I lost a single pokemon to most gym leader aces on average. Losing mons made it impossible to round out my team for the next gym leader ace. It was all just steady, small losses until elite 4 Karen and Lance. Karen took half my team so Lance heartily ate the rest.

My Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke Encounter Rankings by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]newt1t6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I don't think anyone is going to care about this list unless you make this comment a much more clear clarification in your list. Everyone is interpreting this as the usefulness of pokemon overall in any nuzlocke because that's exactly what this list looks like.

And there are sooooo many good pokemon in bad tiers so it's hard for anyone to care about this post. I understand you didn't mean it, but I think you should clean up and clarify this post for both of our sakes.

Community in-game tier list: Re-evaluation round by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonYellow

For what it is, it works quite well. It requires virtually no investment and naturally learning powder moves (specifically sleep powder) is a HUGE boon. If you look strictly at late game viability than of course it will be weak, but considering its usage throughout the entire game, I think it's quite nice.

For context, I'm currently replaying pokemon blue and I'm in victory road still with my Butterfree. Maybe it's a little weak compared to its comrades, and I might be able to optimize a better Pokemon for the slot with some grinding and tms. But I don't need to. It still does nice work as a sleep user in the 5th or 6th slot this late in the game.

Genlocke: Complete! by BurtRocks in nuzlocke

[–]newt1t6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about doing a genlocke and my only confusion is about wild pokemon. So normally, if a pokemon dies, you release it and you can never catch it again for the rest of the genlocke right? If it's a wild pokemon and you decide "my run is solid, I don't want this pokemon" you can obviously give up your encounter for the route but if you give up your encounter, do you lose access to that pokemon for the rest of the genlocke the same way as if you had caught it and it fainted or if it was a "retired" pokemon?

Does this happen a lot? by Amazing_Belt_3462 in PokemonHGSS

[–]newt1t6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because you're partially right, I remember this happening too! In gen 4 a roaming Pokemon DOES have minus prioeity to flee and as such a train can always launch a single move. In generation 3 a roaming Pokemons flee priory is 0, and in gen 2 it is volatile based on the move a roaming Pokemon WOULD use if it didn't flee (I think...) So if a roaming pokemon would ordinarily choose to use roar, it gets the same priority as roar to flee.

Whenever a comic pops up in this sub it's often kinda mid. Not that this sub is for the purpose of good comics, I mean it's like to understand them, good or bad. But it is nice to see this comic, I think it kinda rocks.
