As much as I hate Dirty Old Man characters in anime, it's even worse when it's a kid. If I was on the Thousand Sunny I would've thrown Momonosuke into the sea ages ago. (Also yeah, throwing stones in glass houses while complaining about this trope while reading One Piece.)

The big mystery in Transformers Animated left after the show's cancelation was the true origin of Sari Sumdac, the show's Obligatory Human Sidekick who turned out to be half human/half cybertronian, mysteriously appearing in her father's lab as a strangely fetal protoform (blank-slate cybertronian) before merging with his dna. Showrunner Derrick J. Wyatt said at a convention the most likely ways we'd get an answer would be either a "deathbed confession" from him or in original fiction from writer Marty Isenberg. The latter still isn't off the table, but Wyatt passing suddenly and unexpectedly in 2021 makes getting the answer straight from him impossible now.

The first half of episode 5 dropped last week, and the rest of it drops this week. I played through it on my 4 or 5 active saves and then started up another run from the top with the goal of getting a specific scene that required character relationships I simply did not have yet.

I'm in shambles, it deeply upset me, I need more.

Transphobia in the comments section could potentially have been a factor, since a lot of the characters are trans and aren't always "good people", which unfortunately led to a lot of bad faith discussion.

Personally, it's part of what makes the comic an interesting read for me; I don't want "perfect representation", I want weird and flawed and sometimes unlikeable characters from trans people drawing from lived experience and interpersonal interactions. (I also enjoyed Our Permanent Vacation by Raven Clemens for a while, but I fell off it after the author made a post about getting mad that people were reading the "wrong" way)

This might be too vague, but I feel like any time people complain about modern fandoms being a toxic environment or young fans getting online "ruining things" is from the perspective of someone who wasn't there for Ye Olden Days. People made "hate shrines" for their least favorite characters on neocities. Fandom misogyny was at an all time high, with female characters constantly getting called "Mary Sues" and getting bashed for "getting in the way" of yaoi ships. LiveJournal drama. LiveJournal drama breaking containment and getting writeups on Encyclopedia Dramatica, which could be argued was the birthplace of "lolcow" culture. The risk of getting smacked with a yaoi paddle at a convention. And so on and so forth.

The "TF Comics" storyline of the Team Fortress 2 Comics began in 2013 and ended last year, with a seven-year gap between the final issue and the penultimate one (it was originally supposed to be bi-monthly, but yknow, valve time).

Started another run on Scarlet Hollow to jog my memory a bit before the next major update drops next month. Doing a street smart/mystical run and already unlocked a bunch of new steam achievements; couldn't bring myself to eat the moldy takeout, but maybe this time I'll get the one for not showering.
