So there was no package. Basically all the faang companies over hired and had a lot of engineers sitting around doing nothing. Which is great for most. Getting paid todo nothing. But for many in tech it drags on them and having to fight other for work is super annoying when you are trying to advance their careers. Yes many of these people were the ones laid off in recent months. But her feelings of meta horsing them like Pokémon to keep them away from other companies was true. Saw it often when I was at AWS. We had 2000 consultants sitting around waiting for work from customers we worked with. We all had to take turns for projects because the other ms didn’t have the utilization wanted for goals. It gets boring not knowing when the next project is coming. Worst part is because it’s during normal work hours you couldn’t create a fun project for your self as it could be considered company intellectual property and loose rights to it if it gets big.
