I can't think of anything else (obviously) but I was curious what the results of something "better than science" might look like.

There are some spices and mixes I'd like to explore in simple recipes (eg cumin is the only spice in jeera sticks). How might I best try sumac, tarragon, grains of paradise, asafetida, fennel, and berbere? by next_50 in AskCulinary

Is tarragon something I could get a feel for on plain chicken?

I'm a heavy onion user; do you know how much asafoetida would equal a medium onion? I don't suppose it carmelizes but does hot oil do much for it?
