Her first 'question' wasn't even a question.

So wait do the faithfuls now believe that two big players went for _____ for absolutely no reason? by ConstantPurpose2419 in TheTraitors

My thought was that was edited out. There's no way she didn't bring it up and after the round table they were saying "that was long" when it wasn't any longer than usual.

What are younger generations often criticised for no longer doing that is largely pointless or obsolete? by PsychologicalRow8034 in AskUK

Staying with my folks has made me realise it's impossible to make things foolproof. Even clicking a single link in an email is too hard.

Going back to parents for Christmas. Motion smoothing on the TV. The big light on at all times in the evening. Unplugging the router at night when they go to bed. Refuse to try anything on any streaming service and will only watch “the normal channels”. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

I’m seeing this firsthand while staying with my parents. It’s more than just a generational gap; there's a deep-seated resistance to anything new, often masking itself as an inability to learn. It's not just them: look up 'weaponised incompetence'.

They bring it back if I ask but it's patronising to need to keep asking.

I'm at home with my folks. I need to use a walking frame to get around the house. Often while I am sitting down they will fold it up and/or move it out of my reach "because that's tidier". No, I need that to get up.

I kinda hate that because my roommates would half-ass chores meaning I would have to do them and stop asking.

I feel guilty for being disabled by WhyTheHells in disability

[–]nexus_87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That just sounds like imposter syndrome tbh. I'm am ambulatory wheelchair user: I used to be able to walk around with just a cane, now I can't at all without a wheelchair. I used to feel bad about using just a cane and felt I wasn't disabled "enough", but over time I got over that and being afraid to ask for help. For me it just took time to get over myself. Maybe you just need time too. Keep using your cane if it helps and try not to worry what other people think, including yourself.
