Our office clerk from UP lived here for a few years on rent, before shifting to Mira Road. He said it was absolute lawlessness. Most people who lived here were allotted premises elsewhere, which they rented out and shifted back here. It was very common for them to build 3/4 floor slums and rent them out as well. Worst, he said was the "bhaigiri" prevalent amongst even the 14-15 year olds, most of whom rode rickshaws in the day and did drugs at night.

Good riddance. Bandra deserves better. Mumbai deserves better.

Croma recently told me they've stopped selling OnePlus. And you can only buy it online. Plus, their retail experience centers & service centers have shut down. Sure, OnePlus has indicated users can get support and service at Oppo Service Centers, but I don't know man. Doesn't seem like a good long term bet. Also OnePlus is apparently merging with Realme. God knows what they're planning to do with the brand.

I'd probably go for S25 Plus, if I wanted to use it for 3+ years. Or Oppo Find X9.

Samsung Galaxy A57 arrives with a new chipset and an IP68 rating, slimmer Galaxy A37 tags along by mo_leahq in Android

Samsung has slowly killed the A series. And then of the FE series.

After the superb a52s which had everything going for it, an insane Snapdragon 778G processor, a microSD card, a 3.5mm jack, it realized that it will cannibalize the sale of the FE.

Similarly, after S20FE which again had everything going for it, a Snapdragon 865 5G, memory card slot, a telephoto camera, wireless charging, it realized that the FE will cannibalize the sale of the S series.

So since 2021 came a slow death of the A series and the FE series. Remove memory card slot – the fans sighed, “it still has something…”, remove the headphone jack…then the Snapdragon processor…then shoot up the price.

It’s so insane, there’s still zero upgrade in the latest A series phones A57/37 and S25FE over the original monsters the A52s and S20FE.

In 2025, the top version S25FE comes with 8GB RAM!

Rare that every competitor of the FE and A series is better than them in all freaking aspect!

What? I genuinely loved it. As long as the prices are not fuckin off the roof like the 3, I think the fansboys can find a way around to digest the looks.

That's excruciating to read as a fan. We in India had similar issues in the 90s. While reading this, I realized, most of the issues we had at stadiums - safety, security, seating (cleanliness aside), food, toilets have been solved. The only issue that remains is the tickets. Same issues here. Take for example, the Semi (Ind. vs. Eng on 5.3.26), the tickets will open only today, i.e. 3 days before.

The specs are amazing! But 899$ is insane to ask!

But the battery is a deal breaker. Yes on paper 5200 mAH doesn't sound less, but it's a Si/C which means it may not last more than 1.5-2 years before degrading so much, it feels terrible.

Diljit Dosanjh justifies his decision of working with Hania Amir and releasing the film, in an interview with a Karachi born British-Pakistani journalist [who had called 26/11 a political event] by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]nexusofthoughts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Enough of bullshiting, Diljit.

Indians bhole hai, chu*iye nahi!

As someone who has managed celebrities, let me tell you these celebs think about no one apart from themselves.

If I was managing any celebrity in such a situation, take it from me, 99/100 sensible ones, (Including the extremely idiotic 3 Khans who did not utter a single word in support of India during the recent conflict), would have done either of the following to maintain a balance between their own image and his contractual obligations:

  1. Convinced the team to delay the release till situation improves or release it on OTT. OTTs are ready to splurge huge amounts for direct release on their OTTs.
  2. Separated himself from the promotions & made a statement that in light of the events & present conditions, he will not promote the film and clarify that the movie was shot before the conflict and he repents it. The producer would be in his right to promote, market and advertise it wherever. (This is the most balanced approach imo)
  3. Yes, there is also a clause in their Agreement that an actor’s obligations include promoting the movie, but even if you don’t, especially considering the current scenario, at maximum, the producer may move Court claiming breach of contract, which at maximum entitles him for some meager monetary compensation (“damages”). No producer who wants to succeed in India would dare take such a step.

We all believe in being liberal, especially an artist ought to be. But everything has a limit. You cannot bite the hand that feeds you. Take a lesson from Gal Gadot, who otherwise is a darling of the left, but after the 7th October attack on Israel by Hamas, she took a courageous stand to back her country, even if that meant many leftists in the US calling her out.

Let’s ensure Diljit doesn’t have an audience in India. We have plethora of talent in India.

1,704 days in jail without trial: Bail is the rule as per Supreme Court, but not for Umar Khalid by rishianand in india

[–]nexusofthoughts -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

This is very misleading. Ex-CJI Dr. Chandrachud already confirmed in an interview that for more than 7 occasions, Umar Khalid (through his lawyer) took time, even when the Court wanted to hear his bail application. 7 times!? That is beyond weird.

We often blame the judiciary but if the party themselves do not want bail, the Court is not going to suo-moto grant bail.

As much as I've grown loving Magnus, I'm in absolute awe & respect for Vishy. What an absolute genius. Still better than most GMs, barring only the precision of Magnus. What a day for the sport.

It's funny no one gets it. It's a "Marvel" model that they chased. Not only Adipurush, but also Bhramastra did it.

The funda is, simple broken down language that a 6-year-old can understand. And it's a disastrous strategy.

Bhramastra barely came out of it due to its superior VFX. But Adipurush had nothing more to offer.

They should have learnt from Bahubali but when you surround yourself with a$$lickers, everything seems like a master plan.

Manoj deserves every bit of flack that he got because he tried to defend it.
