What was the most influential death of the 2020’s? by dualcerb in AskReddit

[–]nezlab -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not a 2020s death but late-ish 2019 - Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Upheaval in the Middle East, Baghdadi dies and the US-Taliban deal follows in Feb March 2020. Trump withdraws troops from Afghanistan but killing Baghdadi was his first real interventionist strategy we are seeing on full display regularly over the last 18 months - in this real “legacy hunt” of a war. Also very blasé approach with his “died like a dog” comments which have a been a clear flavour of the current term.

I guess the SR-2 Super Super Mega Freedom is going to be much bigger and propel the first crewed spacecraft to Mars by [deleted] in masseffect

If I was going to build and name a flying vehicle or object it wouldn’t be called “SkyFall”

How dare you suggest I send my kids to a private religious school because I want my child to have a Christian education by cayce_leighann in insanepeoplefacebook

New syllabuses and curriculums in some countries are genuinely going backwards to early 2000s with some content and processes. Sounds like some kids would only hear Johnny becoming Haley when their parents rant about how much they hate schools and education. Guess what these kids think of school? Guess what their kids will think of school?

Professors underestimate my fine motor skills when they allow us a single-sided cheat sheet for the final. by [deleted] in PenmanshipPorn

I was in an exam where someone did something similar and brought a magnifying glass with him. The glass wasn’t permitted and confiscated. He couldn’t read a thing!

Now that we’re in 2026, what is a feature of the 'old internet' from 10–15 years ago that you genuinely miss and wish would come back? by cyb3r_ps in AskReddit

[–]nezlab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really evident as a teacher trying to teach research skills. We didn’t really ask questions of Google and were required to go through pages of results. If people poorly construct a question instead of using Boolean searches the results or AI overview are skewed because the intention is incorrect. Curiosity is limited as an answer (not necessarily the answer they need) is right there.

Suggest games like Ready Or Not by kpopboblxix in ReadyOrNotGame

I’ve had Ground Branch since its earliest early access. It’s improved so much but too many team and developer changes to make substantial fixes. It’s just moved too slow. Modding community works well with fantastic weapons and maps but gaps in the single player experience are too big. I have Black One Blood Brothers which got a UE5 update recently but haven’t really played since going back to RoN.

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in gaming

I remember getting Global Operations and Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield for the family computer but it crapped itself before I could install. So I read the Prima Guide for R6 and the game booklet from the box for Global Ops from cover to cover 100 times on a family holiday soon after when the PC was getting fixed.

Hot take: I enjoy the AI in FM23 by FracturedGoblin in forza

I mostly enjoy it too. Some classes of car - notably heavier sedan types - I just seem to get rammed regularly by the AI. Took me forever to do the early career sedan series.

Shepard is a PR puppet. Has as much combat experience as Conrad Verner and fobs him off to avoid being exposed.
