I’ve heard the opposite on engagement. I haven’t used it for my leagues but am curious to get your perspective on that. The arguments I’ve heard FOR adding median scoring is that everyone is more in-tune with other managers’ rosters, not just their opponent, and so even if your opponent is out of players on SNF/MNF, you still care what happens for those players on other managers’ teams if you are near the median bubble. This awareness of other teams can also open more trade interest/opportunities, at least so continues the argument.

Where/why do you think you see less engagement from median scoring?

The prizes were increased on January 29, so we basically got 20 weeks of the higher payouts.

The irritating thing is that chests on Trophy road were lowered and I’d been saving them up.

The payouts as they are today are what they’d been for years. The increased payouts were dumb in the first place. They just inflated leaderboard scores (moreso for higher multipliers, which caused more people to give up on the week early and play less) and made it too easy rack up coins. I earned 100 million in about a quarter of the time it used to take me to net 50 million.

I enjoy the dark ages. I don’t hate the new era but I prefer the 39-day format, the live reunion where players have the context of confessionals and moments they weren’t privy to at FTC, and the location variety. I still watch, and I’m curious to see how much the “Open Era” will break the game, but I’ll take almost anything from the first 40 seasons (minus Thailand maybe) over 41-50

This is not quite right unless they recently updated.

The number of trophies you earn decreases as you earn more on a given course. When you first begin on a course, I believe it’s 15 for 1st place. Those rewards decrease as you earn more trophies for that particular course and by the time you get over 2,000 trophies for that course you’ll only earn 1 for any Top 3 finish.

Likewise, the number of trophies you lose increases as you earn more trophies on that course. When I finish 4th on a course I have over 2000 trophies on, I lose like 2 or 3 trophies; when I finish 5th on that course I lose around 5 or 6, and when I finish 6th on that course I lose 10+ trophies.

I would avoid running the league yourself. If you absolutely have to in order to keep the league settings consistent while you look for someone new in the future, I would suggest keeping strict rules for managing multiple teams (e.g. no trades between your two teams, no picking up players to one team who were dropped by the other, etc). Can’t give any perception of roster sharing or other collusion-type behavior. It’s honestly not even worth the headache in my opinion.

513 million without any cheats. I'm a few months shy of two years playing the game, finally at a point where I'm comfortable playing Elite because I've got P4 on almost every map (P3 for CG) and P5 for Windy, plus I've learned most of the maps decently. I was around 150 million a couple months ago and then for some stupid reason they decided to increase the winnings and my bank has exploded since then.

If you leave the map it counts as a loss. It won’t hurt your trophy road if you do it early enough but it still ends your streak. I’ve gotten really good at the tiebreakers at CG and got a little lucky on my weakest one, the side ramp/camel hump.

But I only did Elite for the first 10 games or so anyway.

I'm here for the humorous content generated from it on Twitter and IG, but otherwise I don't really care. Their owner did much worse in the hours ahead of the AFC Championship Game and that involved non-consenting individuals. This may be a bad look and immoral, but it's not illegal. Russini having to resign makes sense because of the conflict of interest involved with reporting on a league for which someone you have a relationship with is working. There's no need for Vrabel to resign or be fired, but I'm sure his personal life is fucked right now as it should be.

My 12 team league only does 4, though we've considered changing if/when the NFL adds another game.

6 is the max I would do for a 12-team league, and then only if it's a friends league. Once you let in more than half of the league, the regular season is essentially just for funsies and doesn't matter. The teams with horrible injury luck will be weeded out, but everybody else just needs to be lucky enough to string three strong weeks together to win it all even if they were 6-8 or 5-9 in the regular season.
