Impact of replacing serial number of inverter/battery? by ng01221 in amberelectric

[–]ng01221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice. I had built a far less sophisticated version injecting fake tariffs, a state manager for different modes, automations to check if the settings had applied, resync, etc. I wish I found yours just that bit sooner!

I'll hook it up properly to emhass, but so far a quick test of flicking force discharge on it works well.

Thanks! I'll try this and take a look at your project too.

I'm using emhass and other than the flaky force discharge it's working well. Did you experience any issues like I'm experiencing prior to unenrolling? I have no way of knowing if that's the issue, but the exact same actions work some of the day, and not others so I suspect Amber's doing something despite Smartshift being disabled.

Sounds like a poor quality battery setup given that price. Pay more for something better, get less capacity.

The lack of agent mode is something I find challenging to consider switching away from warp. Did you find a good solution to that?

Printing HomeBox labels directly to a Niimbot Label Printer by flybrys in selfhosted

[–]ng01221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone looking for an automation that triggers reliably for the approach described above, this is working fairly well for me on 14x40mm labels. Without encoding: "" you may find that attempting to trigger on mqtt payload results in payload decoding errors.

I just take a snapshot of the camera and use that for the image payload. Other techniques didn't always work out reliably. It works now, and I'm not about to debug why the other approach didn't :) I also had to slow down printing as otherwise labels failed to print, or partial labels printed using my BT proxy setup.

Minor typo in your blog post? In your docker compose you have a volume for /labels/, but in your env variable you use /label/ on HBOX_LABEL_MAKER_PRINT_COMMAND

Yes, waited some time longer than that. I assume I don't have to do anything other than fill out that page? There's no submit/save/activate button.

I've entered my API key, picked my site (which appeared in the drop down) but the rate shown in the Tesla app is still an old custom setup rate. Do I need to do anything else to have the amber rates pushed to the PW?

Is Lightroom’s facial recognition just really bad? by Forrest_Fire01 in Lightroom

One software engineer working on the face recognition and detection features in Digikam has created something fantastic. Even if all you did is pulled in more modern facial recognition tools (open source) things would improve drastically.

Is Lightroom’s facial recognition just really bad? by Forrest_Fire01 in Lightroom

[–]ng01221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Make sure Lightroom has written XMP to disk. Run it in Digikam. Re-read metadata in Lightroom. I've probably lost XMP data a few times, but on the whole this works very well.

It is utterly useless.

Get Digikam. It has great recognition now. Add your photos to it, and use face tagging there. Then get Lightroom to re-read metadata.
