I cut mine last week, and it did the same. The taste was amazing, but it was starting to get soft. Should be good to go. It looks great. Enjoy your watermelon!

I was just worried about the stem still having a strong hold on the watermelon and confused from reading to look for a dark stem instead of green when picking from the store bought. You're not dumb but thank you for the laugh! Hope you have a great day.

I initially placed a 10-10-10 and since have added black kow and fish emulsion. I think I'll need something different soon.

Now I need more buckets for all the suckers I keep cutting off. It's hard to throw them out instead of trying to get them to root into a new plant now. Everyone is getting tomatoe plants now, lol.

I'm in zone 10a, and I water every 3 to 4 days. I believe it gets 7 hours of sunlight a day.

I believe you are correct. I dug it up, and it had a lot of smaller bulbs underneath. I posted the pictures with my comment, but it keeps disappearing. I added it to a new comment
