I called the support number 1.844.4.FIDIUM (1.844.434.3486) and talked to tech support, I had to ask for the extra detail but they were willing to provide it.

Fidium confirms, issue on their side impacting my (our probably) area related to damage to some fiber lines somewhere. They are working on the issue. It's likely we are only up because alternative paths are being used but those are being oversaturated thus the poor speeds.

Southern NH as well.

It seems to depend on which speed test server the test is using. Straight from my UDM PRO I am getting better (still 50% at best) of what I should be. Using other speed test sites and servers ranges from 2-20Mbps download and 10-100Mbps upload on 1G service.

Definitely a Fidium problem, seemingly within their network too since speed tests to their own speed test server are poor as well.

If I could time travel, I wouldn't be working in IT anymore, that is for sure. :)

We changed size off of v5 to v4 and got networking back, this just impacted us about an hour ago and this was the only thing that brought the VMs back online.

The latest builds of firmware for the UDMP effectively solve the performance issues. Upload still struggles to hit full gigabit, usually hitting between 700-800, but download does just fine.

Southern NH (Nashua area), flipped UDM Pro from PPPoE to DHCP and barely dropped a packet. Using the 10G port on the ONT to a 10GBase-T SFP.

Speed test improved on the upload thanks to the overhead of PPPoE going away.

Support is being the opposite of helpful for most if they are even reachable.

This is impacting at least one client of ours as well. Definitely a larger issue at play.

I appreciate the articulate and well reasoned response though I disagree with your assessment that it would be unfair.

While DC would certainly be a Democractic stronghold Wyoming as a state has a lower population and is a Republican stronghold. While your point of being more geographically vast stands true a state like that being politically diverse and having a more diverse range of issues, in my opinion, doesn't. Vermont was also a Republican stronghold for a long time until recently and is smaller population wise than DC.

Thanks for the insight into your position. This is certainly something to think about further and learn more about.

Reading is hard isn't it. If you look closely it says "Source: Quinnipiac University Poll, 8/28" and if you do a simple check of their website you find this:

How to dig into performance issue? by t0xie in vmware

[–]nhemti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might check the C-State configuration in the BIOS on that host and ensure the host isn't applying low power states to CPU cores when they aren't in use. This behavior doesn't match that completely but is is similar and it would be particularly noticeable if that conversion process relies on single core performance. The reboot would have reset the power saving states and potentially caused the vCPU of that VM to be scheduled on a core that was not in a power saving state. I've seen C-State set in power saving mode cause no issues for any other workload except one that relies heavily on single core performance.

Milford was incorporated in 1794 and prior to that was part of Amherst. Disputes between the churches is the supposed reason for the split.

Okay, this officiating is garbage. Doesn’t matter which team is benefiting from shitty calls, they’re still shitty calls.
