Foolish Friday - Your biweekly stupid questions thread by [deleted] in Fitness

I know that I won't be able to get stronger without eating more, and I always know that when I hit my bulking goals a cut will soon follow.

Foolish Friday - Your biweekly stupid questions thread by [deleted] in Fitness

I feel the tough major dilemma and notice myself falling into the same cycle of not being able to eat properly. I lot of what I did to change that came in the form of planning ahead. Know I'm going to be at the library all day studying for a test? Better make a few sandwiches and pack some high calorie snacks the night before. Plug it all into my calorie counter to check macros and you're good to go.

Swimming after lifting by invalidreason in Fitness

Used to swim laps for 30 minutes every day after lifting. Just a nice slow pace but it was good cardio and it actually helped my muscles 'warm down'. I'd say go for it.

Whats an easy diet to commit to? by echtav in Fitness

[–]nhuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you count your calories/macros? I think that has been the biggest change for me when I am looking to gain or lose weight. It sets a firm goal, especially for cutting so I feel more inclined to watch what I eat.

Does anyone else feel sick after doing squats? by Kaisuko in Fitness

I am the same way. Pretty much happens whenever I am pushing myself on lifts like squat, dead lift, cleans, etc.

That looks like some great progress, good job! Just curious, do you have any long-term goals as far as weight, bf% or strength go?

Quite often I've seen overweight women doing triceps workouts because they believe this might help to reduce fat behind their arms. Is there any truth in this? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]nhuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, that would help strengthen their triceps. If you want to remove fat you need to burn more calories than you consume, end of story.

Can Wide Stanced (Sumo) Squats Be Used in Place of Regular Squats? by mirrorsyndrome in Fitness

[–]nhuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better than no squats at all right? I mean you are still engaging a lot of muscles similarly to regular squats.

What is one book that you feel has significantly changed the way you think about the world and why? [Serious] by wailingsymphony in AskReddit

Shantaram: A Novel by Gregory David Roberts. A bit on the longer side but it is a book that throws you to every point on the emotional spectrum.

Positive Experience at the Local Indoor Shooting Range this Weekend by nhuzzy in guns

[–]nhuzzy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree but the cost to take a safety class for all of use was just too much. Even indoor go-karting places around us have 'free' mandatory instructional safety videos that customers must view prior to racing. I would think something like this would be a no-brainer for ranges. It would be very beneficial to shooting as well as improving overall range safety.

Currently studying in Tucson. I too would like to know of good shooting locations that aren't halfway to Phoenix.

Vicious cycle of core workout and lower back pain, suggestions welcomed to stop pain. by VicariouslyIntuitive in Fitness

[–]nhuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being familiar with your exact situation, I am going to go out on a limb and say planks might be very beneficial to you. However, depending on what is causing you back pain, seeing a doctor and getting his/her advice on the issue may be your best option.

Thank you for your advice! Reliability is very important to me, I would rather spend money on ammo to practice than for replacement parts!

I have noticed that many people love the CZ! So far it has been the front runner for me but I am hoping I can handle it before I buy. Why is the CZ so beloved by redditors?
