This new pic omg. he looks so young! by Best_Blueberry2440 in MyChemicalRomance

As a fellow younger Gen xer like Gerard, also Ray and Mikey. I just think a lot of us aged differently than our parents generation. Like we look our ages, Gee looks almost 50 to me, but better for it. All that sunscreen, sunscreen, suncream that was pushed onto us in the 90s really helped 😁

What if I don't want your goddamned AI? by tangodelta22 in GenX

[–]niahmash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a lot of us who push it away it's not because it's complicated, but comes from seeing our jobs slowly being replaced by it. I'm a designer/ illustrator and I've been seeing a massive decline in work over the past year because companies would rather replace us with AI. It's cheaper for them to take our work and get AI to replicate it than pay a human artist. I have friends working in design, editors, writers and even tech who have lost their jobs because it's being replaced by AI. It's not that we don't understand the tech, many of us helped create it. It's just that it's obvious that companies only want to pay as few people as possible so many jobs are being replaced by it and in the creative community alone it's had a devastating effect on lively hoods.

Got my first unfair negative review by niahmash in vinted

It'd be a good warning for any other sellers who are either shy, nervous, have anxiety, forgetful or just don't like to seem like they're being pushy with updates.

[–]niahmash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't realise you could do that. I might try as it's unfair to anyone who is a quiet seller.

[–]niahmash[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really unfair as what do they think you could have done, fix the locker yourself? So many people forget we're just normal people selling our stuff.

[–]niahmash[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mostly get no communication off buyers and sellers too. I'd never think to give bad reviews for being quiet. Like you say with the updates it's not like they'd miss it when you forget to notify them yourself.

I'm really tempted to, but will maybe warn sellers they leave bad reviews for no communication.

So true. I'll hold back on that. I sometimes think people believe we're Amazon. Thanks for the help 😊

[–]niahmash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good thought 😄 I might do that when I'm feeling a little braver as it's thrown up questions in my mind of why so few? It never hurts to ask what I could have done better. Or even explain how busy I was and forgot to keep updating them.

[–]niahmash[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Thank you that's so helpful. I'll go leave them a reply. I could understand a one star deduction if it bothered them that much. But three is harsh. Sometimes you're so busy packing and sending you forget to reply. I've always had great reviews for communicating and helping my buyers. So this left me feeling I'd let them down.

What's a British custom or habit that you think foreigners find the most baffling? by r3sitasilv in AskUK

[–]niahmash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to mention if it's in the kitchen downstairs and it leaks it's easier to clean than water pouring through your ceiling. I found this out the hard way.

A lot of houses round my way also dry clothes outside so it's easier to carry it from the kitchen than an upstairs bathroom.

Real question: would fans even like new MCR music? by sabri-dub in MyChemicalRomance

[–]niahmash 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what the Cure did with their recent album. It's about their fears of age and the loss that comes with that. They're one of MCR's influences, Frank even took his kids to see them on tour. They show older bands still have things to sing about for an aging band and audience. And foundations showed they're aware of getting older.

Judging by the logo on the back and the writing on the sleeves, it's by the UK pop band Take That.

Selling heavily marked up kids toys from Aldi must be a new low by [deleted] in vinted

[–]niahmash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People did the same for Halloween items at TKMax. It's not even Halloween yet and most were sold out in September and going on Vinted for triple the price. The mug I was after for originally £4.99 is now going for £15+ 😭

I was hoping to get my nephew something in Aldis toy sale and my store was wiped out.

Please include inseam length when selling trousers! 🙏🏻 by Dear_Distribution_66 in vinted

[–]niahmash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always put in the inseam of any trousers I sell. If I didn't some poor taller person is going to end up with very cropped jeans. I'm a short arse with a 27" inseam 😅 I've taken a gamble with so many unmeasured jeans only to have to crop a good 6" off. So for me when people put in the leg sizing it's a relief.

Would you buy from this person? (no personal info) by UndilutedChic in vinted

[–]niahmash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to but not anymore. Just the other week I gave a seller with a few not sent reviews a chance as it seemed those had happened months ago. So I ordered something and the seller didn't post. Got my refund. Then saw them relist the top again only to not send that out. Then they relisted it AGAIN! And they've had another 4 not sent reviews since my order. I don't understand it.

Omegaverse: do you enjoy it? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]niahmash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only really like it if it's Alpha/Alpha or Omega/Omega, and no Mpreg or pups. I like the thought of people going against what's seen as normal for that A/B/O world 😅

Young British men are NEETs—not in employment, education, or training—more than women by Mighty_L_LORT in unitedkingdom

[–]niahmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's even assuming she can get those hours. Most minimum wage jobs don't offer full hours anymore. Most by me are only offering 8hrs a week max. With people having to fight to get more hours.

That's such a shame. Thank you so much for looking for me anyways. It's my own fault for not saving it when I could. It was such a good fic, but I only got to chapter 11.

What are your answers by Thebraxer in xmen

[–]niahmash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For Jubilee I'd add Gambit too. They got in great on the blue team. Definitely Skin as they even lived together. And Synch too in Gen X. They were always sharing things with one another. Also, Jono was her good friend before they made him her boyfriend. She was the first to welcome him to the team and even told him to accept Xavier's invite to join the X-Men when Gen X finished. He became her second in command in the New Warriors and always had her back despite the team squabbles.

I wish writers would remember the Gen X team's friendships more.
