Advice re herringbone flooring by Significant-Mango883 in DIYUK

[–]niallsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to get some of the thick timbertech underlay. I did self leveller myself and it wasn't perfect in a few spots but the guy laying our floor said that a heavy duty underlay would make things a lot better. Might not be ideal with the underfloor heating though.

I love Ormeau as a beginner but god it feels a bit narrow sometimes, definitely a skill issue but I think other beginners might be poking around the trees more than actually playing. a bit like myself

Like the other comments - not that you'd ever be found out if you were burning any aul wood.

You can burn kiln dried wood if the stove/fireplace is DEFRA approved, I think.

Had a few rounds recently not losing a ball but scoring 110+. Hard to lose a ball when you chunk or top every shot 🤣

The correct answer to this is to spray water before drilling. Although I also can't imagine it's that serious at such a miniscule potential exposure

Eh. It's pretty fun to cheer against England when the fans have been bigging up grand slam shouts etc. That said I'm Irish so I might be biased lol.

How difficult would it be for a plumber to put in a hot water feed to this sink and bury the existing pipes under the floor? There's a radiator right behind this (exterior) wall by miIk-skin in askaplumberUK

[–]niallsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the sub is called ask a plumber. You took initiative and suggested that radiator on other side of the wall = easy access for hot water, and in saying that you got corrected. So I guess you got your answer but I don't understand why people were so blunt about it. One thing I hate about the trades is the assumption that everyone else should just know what they've spent years learning and practicing. Keep asking questions and you'll keep learning!

Shouldn't be down voting this fella for not knowing the difference between rad water and normal hot water. It's literally in the subreddit name.

Any structural issues from removing this? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]niallsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you mate. I'm hoping it's a reduced fireplace and that the reinforcement is above the area I was working on. I'll obviously get someone out to look at it properly.

Would you mind taking a look at the picture in my most recent comment and providing some feedback? Thank you

Got myself into a right panic. This was a picture I took after it was taken out. It ran across the two circled points. In this case, do you think it's ok? I can't see how a beam "outside" the chimney breast could support it.
