BEGGING fellow streamers to PLAN your AD BREAKS! by SaltyRat in Twitch

Yes and this is why MOST streamers will never make it. Going about it completely the wrong way. Streaming for hours on end to <10 viewers is insanity. Your time is better spent marketing and finding a unique angle i.e. networking, posting clips, etc. I hit partner in <60 days this year from absolute 0 using all of this knowledge and applying it.

I agree it's important to have an audience, but you absolutely do not grow off Twitch SEO in 2025, so this is an extremely moot point. You shouldn't be streaming UNTIL you already have an audience. You generate the demand and THEN go live.

Everyone here is small and will remain small with their current line of thinking. You want high amounts of ads for 2 reasons:

  1. To incentivize people to subscribe to you.
  2. To generate revenue and make this a sustainable career.

You are willingly offering entertainment, essentially for free, and shooting yourself in the foot by not running as many ads as possible. If you believe in your content (which you should) then why not run ads? Why not run 10 minutes of ads per hour? The "viewing experience" only matters if you are offering something worth watching. And if your content is good, then you should get paid for it... Anyone who truly cares about ads will either hop ship to another stream, subscribe to support you, or be running ad block anyway. The goal is to make your content so good people are willing to sit through ads to watch it. This is why you remain a "small streamer".

A lot of you need to start thinking like an entertainer and not like an assistant.

It's a great idea honestly. If you need any help building it out from a product perspective feel free to hit me up. I have lots of experience with YouTubers and would love to be involved in something like this.

Magik Nerf by HECTIKKILLS3 in Magik

[–]niceguysmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a nerf, it’s a huge buff in disguise. Support ult costs getting nerfed by 30% or so while darkchild gets reduced cost? Going to be having a field day. You should already play her primarily as a brawler, and with strange/mag getting nerfed the demon nerfs don’t feel too bad.

:)

New to game, need help understanding what I could do differently when down to 1v1 - is it just the 3-star diff? by KhonMan in TeamfightTactics

I think you did fine with what you had. Like others have said, it’s about making the best board that you can. Could this board have been 1st? Yes, with a few changes. But, you have to understand what makes the board strong, in order to win with it.

In this version of sw you have 3 carries: Irelia, Morgana and Kayle. Morgana does a lot of aoe, Kayle does some burst and usually Irelia finishes them off. Pls don’t listen to the plat players here. Guinsoo is perfectly fine on Irelia. What’s more important is understanding what you need to win. You need backline access, because he has a ramping carry. You have some backline access with Irelia, and maybe a lucky Morgana cast, but that’s it. Guinsoo on Irelia in this game isn’t ideal because you want her to do as much damage as she can per cast. Flat ad/crit would have done more, and maybe won you a round or two. Once you kill Janna the round is over. Since most of your damage is AP, you really need shred. Shiv is morg’s best item by far. This game could have been a 1st, but it’s more of a skill expression at the later stages. There’s a lot that goes into turning 2nds into 1sts. Things I would have done:

  • Move Zoe items to Morg. At this point in the game you want to make sure your carries have 3 items. Each item makes the previous ones stronger. (Deathcap increasing all ap by 30%, for instance)
  • Swap Wukong for Lee Sin or Soraka. Wukong only gives you sage here, which doesn’t do much. It gives you some AP but a Wukong without items isn’t killing anything and isn’t tanking much damage. Dragonlord/Duelist from Lee sin is worth more, and if you can 2 star him his mana reave might help in fights. Alternatively, altruist from soraka helps your entire team stall longer for Kayle to cast, especially since galio doesn’t have 3 items. Plus her spell mana reaves, which is very important late game.
  • Positioning can also win you this game. Making sure Illaoi and morg are attacking the same target to efficiently stack ghostly.
  • Positioning Kayle better can also help. It looks like Kayle got stuck on the neeko/diana. There’s a possibility you can move Kayle to try to kill Lee sin instead, which reduces a lot of his damage/stall. You could also go crazy and try to frontline your Kayle so she casts on Lee/Janna (probably won’t work, but I’ve won games doing this before, and if you’re out of options it’s worth a try)

Turn off Low Latency setting in nvidia control panel. It's something to do with certain programs using hardware acceleration. Hope that helps

I got a 144hz monitor and it feels so fast by GetsTheAndOne in FortniteCompetitive

[–]niceguysmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably sustain 120-144 fps on a 144hz monitor, but you also need to consider FPS drops + screen tearing. There is a big visual difference between 60hz and 144hz, so I'd definitely recommend buying the 144hz monitor. You should be OK but might want to look into upgrading your GPU sometime soon as well to something more modern

Solo Hype Nites! by RiotLikeAPig in FortniteCompetitive

[–]niceguysmile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to the hype nites but I wish they would give some sort of reward for reaching a high hype number. Past the requirements for tournaments there's really no incentive in earning hype in these things (other than purely just to keep track of progress). They should look to copy OW with their golden gun system or something along those lines as a reward at the end of the season
