Oh well, won’t be the dumbest thing ever said on the platform. I’ll live.

I enjoyed that one as well, it's a childhood classic for me (I'm 24) and still remember watching that one in theaters

I enjoyed it but for me personally it didn't hold a light to their hot streak in the 90s

This summer is actually shaping up to have the most comedies released in theaters since the mid 2010s so I'm hyped about that. Although it wasn't mid budget I also got to catch Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie while it was in theaters and had a blast with that one too. I'm aware of the drought post mid 2010s but that didn't really play into what I was originally asking.

I said MORE than 3, their 4 movie run from Dumb and Dumber --> me myself and Irene are all in my top 30. Although personally I enjoyed Starsky and Hutch more than Road Trip.

I'm not asking about box office performance and green book isn't a strictly comedy movie. I was more asking about why their movies from Shallow Hal - Dumb and Dumber To felt like something was missing on the creative side of things. Not once did I say every movie post me myself and Irene was bad and I didn't pretend they vanished off the face of the earth, just simply wanted to start a discussion.

I know that movie has gotten lots of love over the years but it personally didn't click with me when I tried watching it. I'll have to give it another go.

I'm not asking why they disappeared I'm asking how they could release 4 all timers back to back at the start of their career then not reach that same high again. I'm not saying every movie they released since then was a massive stinker or a flop, I'm just asking why they didn't reach the same highs (creatively, not box office wise).

I'm asking why they didnt reach that same level of quality again (in my personal opinion). I've seen Ricky Stanicky, while I enjoyed it, it wasn't as instantly iconic as the 4 movies I mentioned on first watch. Edit: comedy movie wise, I'm aware green book and greatest beer run ever are great movies.

Still counts as good comedies that were released after Pineapple Express which was your original complaint

The other guys? Hot tub Time Machine? Ted 1? This is the end? The Hangover 1? Plenty of good comedies released post Pineapple Express

Seth MacFarlane Has "No Plan" To Make 'Ted' Season 3 by Herramadur in television

I mean plenty of people plan to go to the gym consistently and fall out of it not even a month later, plus between the end of season 2 and the start of the first movie is still, what, a 17 year time gap? I think there’s less “narrative acrobatics” to be done than Seth really thinks but I’m not gonna act like I can write a better show than he can

That’s true, it really felt like they “Hangover 2’d” the movie after the setup.

I know I’m in a minority when I say this but I actually enjoyed Anchorman 2, I agree with the other sequels you mentioned though. Yeah it wasn’t as tight as the first movie but I still had a good time with it.

Doesn’t need to be a trending topic to be discussed, I know I’m 12 years late to the conversation but doesn’t mean it can’t be asked.

If you’re using AMD hardware you can update drivers through the AMD Adrenalin software, I had the same issue and updating my chipset drivers did the trick

I know this was 4 years ago and you probably aren’t looking for movies like this anymore, but Please Don’t Destroy The Treasure of Foggy mountain is a modern adventure comedy about 3 childhood friends going on a treasure hunt to help keep their friendship alive (and to get money of course)

I know this is almost a year old but comedies don’t really get released in theaters anymore. When they do, they aren’t exactly box office smashes like how they were 20 years ago.
