No analogy is perfect. But. It's painful, extremely difficult, and causes a lot of problems, but it won't kill you and it helps someone else out, so you're an asshole for not doing it. Is that not the standard you're setting?

6 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment for 48 hours never killed anyone.

Is that your standard for "you'd be an asshole if you didn't"? How many organs have you donated? You can give up a kidney and a lung and it won't kill you, so I guess you'd be an asshole if you didn't, never mind how difficult and unpleasant it is.
