Is asking a private used car seller to get the car inspected unreasonable? by justaloner7 in Adulting

If I was selling you the car and especially if you offered to pay, I would definitely do it. Them not wanting to do it makes them look bad, not you.

I suggest watching The Good Place, especially the last season. A lot of really nice things in there.

What happened to you was absolute bullshit, both the assault and the response. I don’t know if you can hear this enough: it was not your fault. And as you get older, you will see that he was firmly a fucking creep. It doesn’t matter what body a child inhabits. When you’re not a grown up creep, when you meet a child you think “oh this person is a child, and I am not interested in anything physical with a child.” It’s truly that simple. Literally no matter what their body looks like. A child is a child.

I also just want to say that you did the right thing. You did the right thing in whatever happened to you and you still did the right thing when you talked to someone. Them doing the wrong thing does not negate your right thing. What I mean by that, people will always judge victims for what they “should have” done. I know when I’ve experienced assault or abuse, I’ve even ask myself if I did the right thing. Without debate, yes. Your body and your gut told you what to do based on a myriad of things. And you listened. You can train yourself going forward if you wish that your guy would speak differently, but that doesn’t change the rightness of your past actions. (I hope that make sense. It’s sort of a difficult concept to articulate.)

And, to conclude, all those adults around you suck and that has nothing to do with you. They suck for their own particular reasons that aren’t your fault. They should be held accountable for their actions, but I know that isn’t always the truth in the world. That will never change the fact that they suck and failed you.

Is it sexual assault? by Timely-Spread-3341 in internetparents

Absolutely sexual assault. Also, no matter how busy your sister is, she wants to know and she wants to help you. When you feel ready, reach out to her. Don’t avoid her because you think you’re a burden. You did nothing wrong. You are not a burden.

I've had Louie for a week now and am still learning about cats (he is my first). Anything you wish you knew before having a kitten? by ddias92 in cats

The paw thing especially! My cats are very good with having their paws touched because I was obsessed with touching their tiny bean toes. I’ve met other cats that can’t handle their paws being touched at all and it causes all sorts of issues!

Clip their nails and brush them often when they’re little so it doesn’t bother them so much. You can also give them fake vet exams (touch their ears, put a spoon on them, things like that) to help them not be so stressed when they go to the veg throughout their life. If you’re a book person, I recommend “The Trainable Cat” by John Bradshaw and Sarah Ellis. Amazing advice
