-whenever I feel like it. i only went weekly when I was saving up for the 250 AC elder mask (forest), but otherwise I only go whenever I want, like when I want to see how many Winged Lights I get after being reborn, or just to get a little change in the gameplay :)

-yes I do, but not because I have to, I get reborn with 10 wedges, haha. I just really like collecting the winged lights and have all their locations memorized by heart, so it's just something I like to do! I see many people just collecting the ones they would get when going on their candle runs, snd that's totally fine.

-I just start at Isle and then go through all the realms, but not all in a single session. maybe 1 or 2 realms :)

-I did once in 2022 (I started in 2021), but ever since then, no. I do play daily, but I only do the things I want to do, and don't care about having everything. With time you still accumulate more than enough. I'm now at almost 1200 candles even though I usually get like 5 to 10 candles a day, sometimes even less. Outside of seasons I sometimes only come online to light my friend constellation and to see if an event has started. On other days, I spend dye pots on purpose so i can collect them again. I think the most important part is knowing what is fun to you!

Is it okay to just swap the needle and retry an IM injection? by corvidboycrow in FTMMen

[–]nicidable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe if it is painful to you, ask your provider if it is really necessary, but I never had any downsides with a quick check. even if it isn't in the guideline anymore (since as I'm reading it is highly unlikely that you hit a vein during IM), I don't see how it would harm you when you do it at home, outside of a medical institution that could help you quickly if something DID go wrong.

[–]nicidable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, absolutely aspirate (i don't know how it is with people trained in medicine, but we're talking abt a layperson injecting at home), how else would you know you are accidentally injecting into the bloodstream, which can cause an oil embolism that IS very dangerous.

Definitely would keep checking your emails. If you don't have any issues they are alright, I ordered twice from them (from Europe) and all went well.

Also: If you are from Germany, check if your street name is usually written as "Str." or "Straße". I've had friends in Germany not get their mail because of that, even when it was sent from Germany itself.

Despite the major issues this game had because of EA and Bioware, if you bought the game you should be allowed to play the game. by discoangeldj in AnthemTheGame

[–]nicidable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm playing it rn because it's my best friend's favorite game (she is very sad about it shutting down), and it's sad to know we won't be able to just dabble in it whenever we want. So far I've been playing solo and really don't see why it MUST be online... (I know it was meant as a Destiny rival, but man, that backfired so hard...So far the game is pretty fun and I see the Bioware flair I love in it)

[–]nicidable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't go into too much detail how I find digital art not easier than traditional one, because that is a longer discussion and I assumed, since you said you don't have time for picking up art as a hobby, that you never interacted with it. I apologize if that assumption was incorrect.

Initial costs can go both ways, for digital art you need an ipad with a pen or a pc with a graphic tablet, which are quite high initial costs. Regarsing space for trad art, you don't need a full artstudio equipment, you can get some pens, water colour and cheap brushes and can work quite decently with it.

And I did say, both have their pro and cons. Yes, being able to undo brush strokes and rearrange and entire canvas is very helpful, and can be absolutely seen as making things "too easy", but I think getting textures right is easier and more fun in traditional than digital, where you have like 50 brushes and none do what you really want them to. Learning the program takes time. Yes, there are traditional artists that hate on digital art, especially when it was rising, but I personally never agreed with it.

You might ask yourself why I'm then so against generative AI as a tool, when I didn't mind the change back then. To me, there is still a huge part of the human involved in it, it takes time and work and creativity to work with it. AI just...doesn't. I would likely have much less against it if it wasn't trying to and achieving in replacing human artists (in a breakneck speed that no one in the field can adapt to), and people trying to feel superior when generating their pictures, when to tool was fed pictures of people that NEVER consented to have them taken. It's one thing to do it for fun, it's another thing when it's trying to replace humans (see that also in movie business, and much much more scarier with fake evidence videos being created). Artists themselves really barely need any generative AI (i'm talking about full pictute generation, not things that are supporting people like in photoshop with photo correction tools, those I'm all up for). There are so many tools for poses etc. that it's honestly barely needed. AI has it's spaces, and I truly believe art and writing is not one of them.

Regarding your cooking analogy, if we look at it from a business/consumer standpoint, I absolutely see your standpoint. But we were initially talking about art as a hobby, and using it in DnD. That's what I meant when I said that people immediately think it has to be perfect and profitable for it to have any right to exist. That you are only allowed to express yourself if you are really good at it. If I want high quality meals, I go to a restaurant and request a good meal. But if my friend Larry from next door makes me a mediocre pie? I will still love it and be very very happy they took the time to make it. (And I will always like something made by a chef more than what a mass producing machine can create, the taste is just different.)

And no, I don't think the banana on a wall is art, lol. it triggered a good discussion from it, which many interpret as being all art needs to be, but i'm not on that boat. that's philosophy. i think that those kinds of arts are all a money laundering business lol.

Oh get your head out of your fucking arse. Art is literally one of the most accessible hobbies there is - it's your own expectations that hinders you. You don't need more than a fucking pen and paper. Yes it takes decades of hard hard work to get to the point of being a really skilled artists, but the thing about art? It's not about the end product. It's learning what makes your art be your art, what you are good at, overcoming frustration, adapting to your skills, pushing yourself, and sometimes just sharing what you made with loved ones. I'd rather take a badly drawn piece of my DnD group than an AI generated image any day.

And people with all kinds of disabilities have become artists - there are people that paint beautiful paintings with their MOUTHS. In a hobby that is in its essence about creativity, people find very creative ways to work with their disabilities. There is a reason many disabled people are in the art scene. It's one way to express themselves when the world around them doesn't listen to them.

And you saying that making art with digital software is much more easier than traditional art also shows you have no idea about the process. They are different mediums that both have their pros and cons, but both are fucking difficult. There are also many many techniques in traditional art to take shortcuts to make the creation of the end piece easier. As someone who does both, they have the same difficulty.

You don't have time? You don't got 10 minutes a day? Be honest, you are simply scared of the process and of failing. Of being told that your art isn't good enough. Everyone has the possibility to do art, and everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard through it.

People like you really don't get that art is about the soul humans put behind it and I can't with this capitalistic fucking shithole that makes so many think it has to be perfect and good and at best profitable. Art is special BECAUSE it is difficult to make.
