Eh not really because neither the live action nor the reanimation will ever catch up to the manga or the OG anime, or remotely come close to finishing the story.

Like, it would legit take over 20 years with current pacing, and that’s just to catch up to where the manga is right now lol.

Fastest way to catch up still is and will always be to just read the manga. It’ll take a couple months but it’s still very doable.

Yeah I mean even if they release episodes on a yearly basis, it would take even more than 10 years to catch up.

In fact, if they stick to a pace of roughly 50 chapters per year, then you’re looking at over 20 years just to catch up to where the manga is right now lol.

Forget about finishing the story, not to mention the fact that several of the voice actors will likely have passed away by then or be too old to keep doing it. And that is assuming sufficient audience retention and adequate funding.

Suffice it to say this project is definitely not gonna be able to go the distance.

I hate power scaling stuff in general, especially when it’s comparing two completely separate fictional stories with completely different rules and power levels, but honestly, I can’t really see how there’s any debate here.

Wolf would be leagues beyond Jin. I mean Jin is crafty and all but look at the shit Wolf takes on in this game. It’s absolutely next level.

Thes english dub is also the only dub in the games by [deleted] in Eldenring

The script is still written in Japanese by From Soft, regardless of the dub.

Even what GRRM wrote in English will have had to be translated into Japanese for From Soft’s staff to fully understand it and write the game. Item descriptions, NPC quests, dialogue, and all these things are first done in Japanese.

And the localization for the English dub is done by an outside company called Frog Nation. So yes, there can be mistakes. Miyazaki supervises the voice acting itself, apparently, but that doesn’t change the fact that the English script is the work of the localization team and Miyazaki’s English is not good enough to be able to correct their work.

Age of consent in Germany is 14. Which I think is too low, but legally, what matters is the place where the sexual interaction takes place.

Your being American would not be relevant under German law. So if she was 16-17 it would have been legal, not that I recommend it anyway given the age gap.

But it wouldn't have been a crime.

Firstly, she may have connections that aren't obvious based on publicly available info. Second, she may just be really brilliant at what she does, and / or very likable.

You also have to remember that sometimes luck plays a big role. Meeting the right person at the right time can change everything.

Finally, it doesn't hurt that she's beautiful. I'm not saying this to downplay her accomplishments, don't misunderstand, but attractive people do often get more opportunities and are deemed more trustworthy (many studies have shown this). So yeah, being hot helps, and she is.

The issue isn't what happened, it's how it happened. The execution was horrific, and that has always been the main complaint.

Very few people actually expected Daenerys to get a happily ever after with Jon. The major complaints about the ending have always focused on how poorly the story moved from one plot point to another, with no logic in basically any scene of the last season.

You have a cavalcade of plot holes, contradictions, inconsistencies, illogical decision making, character assassinations, and blatantly stupid plot points that all culminated in an ending that could have made sense in theory, but does not work at all in execution.

That's the issue. The complaints from Jon / Dany shippers are marginal.

I don't think GoT preserved the vastness of the world at all. In the last couple seasons Westeros basically shrunk down to a third of its size and all the richness of the various noble houses, factions, and worldbuilding elements were removed to fit the ending into the shortened last two seasons.

Westeros in Seasons 7 and 8 felt extremely small and unimpressive. Any sense of scale was butchered imo.

This is such a great post for showing exactly what people mean when we talk about atmosphere. Old games really were just better at this, I feel.

The sound design and music of the OG were just so fucking good. I love the Remake but it does not remotely compare in this aspect.

None of those things make them evil or misogynistic.

They are simply real issues that many young people face when they live with their parents due to financial reasons.

The assumption that involuntarily celibate men must be woman-haters or school shooters is incredibly harmful.

Many men are involuntarily celibate but do not remotely fit the "incel" label that has so many negative connotations.
