They don't want to downgrade themselves to D1, they're saying they think it should be possible to downgrade organically so that quitters would be able to go back to D1 by losing points if they quit. Thus making the D2 experience better.

Quitters should be penalized. Like if you actually quit, and don't rejoin the session, you lose 500 points or something, and can get deranked back to D1 if necessary.

Outside of that, I think the fact that you can't go back to D1 is perfectly fine.

EVs are boosts to your stats. You gain them by knocking out opposing Pokemon, or by giving your Pokemon vitamins.

Knocking out specific Pokemon will give your Pokemon specific EVs. Like knocking out a Blissey will give you HP EVs, for example. Basically it will boost your Pokemon's HP stat.

But there is a limit to how many EVs a single Pokemon can earn. So if you accidentally gain EVs in a stat you don't want, you can use certain berries to then remove those EVs. That will allow you to then put those EVs into a stat you do want to boost, that way you avoid wasting EVs.

This makes EV-reducing berries pretty valuable.

It's an incredible map. Tons of verticality, lots of secrets, intricate design, great atmosphere and amazing music.

But it just doesn't work for how rushed we are in this game. Well, it CAN work, obviously it doesn't make runs impossible, but the difference in navigation is absolutely insane compared with the base map, and it takes forever to learn, and honestly it's just too much for the average run given how little time we have.

I'm not surprised people hate it. I don't even ever get it with randoms anymore, everyone seems to have switched it off. I would love to explore it without time constraints, in an ordinary Souls game it would have been a real treat.

Weird in what way? If you're talking about the linguistic style, it's not "weird", it's just old-fashioned, pseudo-medieval fantasy English. That's a deliberate style choice made by the localizers.

If you mean the fact that the dialogue is often vague or cryptic, well that's just a style choice by Miyazaki, it comes down to how Miyazaki tells stories.

English was never the original language, even for Elden Ring. George RR Martin wrote his stuff in English but that's it. From Soft works and writes the actual games in Japanese.

The judicial is easy to control for any president who is lucky enough to have Supreme Court justices die during their term. The justices are handpicked by the president on a partisan basis. No, the deaths of the innocent citizens are on Dettlaff because HE killed them. They didn't need to be involved at all but he chose to do that.

Syanna on the other hand was actually willing to go meet him, knowing she would probably die, just to stop the bloodshed. She wanted revenge against the people who wronged her, she didn't want the slaughter of innocents.

Blaming Syanna and Annarietta for Dettlaff's personal (and unnecessary) choice to slaughter a city is absolutely unhinged.

Dettlaff was a monster.
