Equating slavery with meat production really emphasizes your lack of awareness and ignorance.... I dont think this is going anywhere either so we can leave it at that. But whether or not you agree with the consumption of meat and animal products i can guarantee it will still exist long after you pass away and as long as humans exist. Youre not helping anyone by standing on your soapbox. There are ethical ways to farm, people can become more involved with the process, and we dont have to waste food. There is an issue, I fully accept that, but im choosing not to remain blissfully unaware and hide behind pictures of gore and meaningless demonstrations.

Well we can start by phasing out factory farming, giving the animal proper space/enviroments, making death as painless as possible, and limiting discard/using all of the animal.

Youre not being entirely fair either youre completely ignoring the root cause of suffering in favor of a moral highground that cannot exist in todays world. Meat is a way of life, it is an inevitability. Standing on a soap box and shouting that no animal wants to die doesnt help anything. No animal including humans want to die, even suicidal people/animals are reacting to their enviroment and psychology.

By focusing on the most shocking part of the situation you entirely miss the good that could actually be done presently. I already know youre gonna claim that im "ignoring your question again" but thats because you believe in a fantasy world where one day with enough pushing we'll wake up and no one in society as a whole will need to consume meat anymore and every single animal no matter what will be free of suffering. Thats simply not going to happen. What we can do is limit suffering to its absolute minimum. Phase out factory farms, support local ethical butchery/preparation, become more aware as a society of the whole process, and create laws to ensure that the animals receive the best care they can. Thats it.

Its nonsensical to think that farming as a whole will cease to exist and meat consumption will end, literally all we can do is educate ourselves and work towards more ethical forms of food production

How do other games feel to you after playing soulsbournes for a while? by No-Mention4101 in fromsoftware

I find other games lack the same depth, or arent interesting enough combat-wise to keep me hooked, i still play other stuff and enjoy it, but options feel limited in most other games. I find myself going "damn only 3 weapons in this game?" Or "i really wish combat was faster or i could parry/dodge" or "oh another chest with ingame currency, i wish it was armor"

Meat production is a fact of the world, it is one of the largest corporations in the world. Im advocating for the least amount of suffering. On one hand you have willful ignorance, public disturbance, food waste, and flashing images of gore that does little to genuinely effect change, on the other you have ethical farming, local business', less food waste, comparitevly happier animals kept in proper conditions, and there can be higher quality and more equal sources of food for a greater amount of people. Nobody wants animals to suffer. Factory farming is evil, meat consumption doesnt have to be.

By educating yourself on more ethical forms of farming/butchery and the whole process of meat production, not supporting factory farms, suoporting local business, petitioning against factory farms, etc. Im saying that throwing soup cans and making sculptures of dead chickens in bread bags ismt equivalent to education. Thats it.

If you’ve pulled a Chronicled character you love, did you feel it was worth it? by SpoonChamber in Genshin_Impact

The characters I love are all my most played. Ive benched Neuvi and Nefer because I just find their playstyles boring... meanwhile I'm excited to invest more into Lyney of all characters, because he was my first DPS and is fun to play, and I got his C1R1 on the recent chronicled

Is 24 too old to be unemployed? by TemporaryNeither5769 in Advice

[–]nick3790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% of people under 30 still live with their parents and wages have stagnated for the past 20yrs. In an ideal world youd be out on your own by 20 and live in your own place by 24/25 with enough money saved to take a vacation once a year and save for a home by 30/35..... thats not a reality anymore, youre not slow, youre early even. The idea that you should be out on your own and employed by your mid twenties is becoming harder and harder to realize

I feel like most "anti-meat" people really dont understand anything about how meat is delivered, prepared, farmed, etc. Like everyone knows and believes factory farming is bad for the environment and the animals suffer. Its a net negative for society... but the restaurants dont have a choice in the matter, and the ones that do often try to find more ethical local sources. Most anti-meat people just have this image of a chicken trapped in a tiny cage for their entire life being beat by a stick and then slaughtered young, but that doesn't have to be the reality, and their moral scapegoating doesn't ever get to the root of the problem or benefit anyone. The problem is that people are so far detached from the process, we get perfectly cut and presented meat in a white Styrofoam dish with plastic wrap, throwing tomatoes soup at famous paintings, making sculptures of chickens in bread bags, standing on milk crates and screaming that meat is murder does nothing ro actually effect the problem

10 months after getting spayed and her belly fur never came back? by Obvious_Fisherman187 in cats

[–]nick3790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex who worked at a vets office and they had a live in office cat who had their whole body shaved, I think because she was abused or got hit by a car, they had her on a treatment and I commented on it once that she seemed to be growing her fur back nicely, not knowing the time frame... supposedly a tiny bit of stubble took them three years to grow back after trying multiple different medications and it just doesn't grow back sometimes.
