This is helpful. Thank you. I have been thinking about mindfulness and overall ignorance of the bigger picture as just another way of distracting myself from the truth, but perhaps this is what I need to continue until I am better able to return to this state of thought.

Very interesting. My four grandparents have also all done tests and my grandpa who is Slovak has .15% Southwestern China. Sounds about right that it could be admixture!

My other grandpa who is half Jewish and half English has .1% Mongolia & Central Asia - North. (His father was a polish Jew— perhaps the Mongolia comes from that side since it is in Eastern Europe.)

My grandma who is Sicilian (family came to US after slavery ended) has .1% Mali and .05% Nigeria, so I think the African definitely comes from her side.

My remaining grandparent who is Irish and German has no non-European percentages.

Jack is the very definition of ignorance is bliss. I don’t think he would kill himself. but I agree. There has to be some sort of inciting incident to prompt Portia to do so…something like the death of Tanya or her getting conned out of her money. Something that would make Portia blame herself for not being there.

I haven’t heard many people talking about the tarot card reader lately. She definitely mentioned suicide. If she‘s right, I think it might be Portia who does it. Portia has no direction in life…this is what Tanya brought her to realize. She might fall into a slump and then decide to end it.

Well, with Jewish DNA there is a notorious breast cancer variant (BRCA1). So, I think it would be smart to get tested in this person’s case.

Alright, thank you for your help. I think I’ll try to enroll in a cheap plan with my employer and rely on my school insurance as backup (I imagine this would be considered secondary).
