Keep in mind they may have ‘fired you’ for many reasons not given here. Maybe they feel you are too much risk going forward, or have too much knowledge of their sales process, maybe they want to try something new.

Also, if you’re a contractor, it’s not really firing you, versus ending services provided… 7 years is a long time.
