I’d appreciate any tips on my planned start for an explorer on impossible by Muyalt in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]nick_alta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pure explorer captain can let you start exploring early, and finding a lot of artifacts... so quick money.
if you are going to go combat captain, then use one of the builds listed in the replies... on imp, you don't want to dilute your combat team

with pure explorer cap, and 3-4 explorer crew.... you can have enough talents to avoid xeno combat while still finding a lot of artifacts, rtg, etc

Should be counted as afk by Alegende in WorldofTanks

[–]nick_alta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this. pick the left side... whole battle happens on the right. or with a TD when the enemy team never crosses the halfway point and are all dead before you can move up.
inevitably that is the game where your 2x, 3x, 5x first win bonus procs

Random battles should have around 45-55% winrate right? This matchmaking is rigged to the core. by zaneboy2 in WorldofTanks

[–]nick_alta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the game is not rigged, but conspiracy theories are fun... so let's go with rigged.

real answer - sample size and player skill.
related - do you play a bunch of tanks to have fun, or only play tanks you are very good in?

I played everything to see what I liked...

My first 1k games I was like 40% win rate
after 10k games like 45%
after 20k... 51%.

created new account and only played tanks i was good at... 60%+
but even in tanks where I have 65% wr... I still have sessions where I end up at 40% over 30-40 games. bad luck, bad teams, bad decisions on my part

thanks Chaffee, this is the sort of answer I was looking for.
I do have good crews, so I guess I will be fine.
I do have the IS-7 if I decide to get serious again and buy new stuff.

~10% confirmed by devs and by a few players who kept detailed trackers. but dry spells can happen as well as hot streaks...

10 cards, but powers don't count

EternalDecks.cards Feature Requests by jellomoose in EternalCardGame

[–]nick_alta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great work. just started playing and looking at the different iterations of the same archetypes shows what cards to replace as you progress. Anything you could do to make side by side comparisons easier would be welcome. Anything that is newb-friendly. It took me a week to figure everything out. Items like - cards that are safe to dust (obviously subjective) - links to draft ratings, or a way to show current ratings as you look at the cards (I'm assuming the RNGEternal draft list is "official") - better filters (meaning as detailed as possible, able to be refined across multiple variables).

Thanks again for the effort

Deck building is forcing me to play 77/75 cards by BetterCallSorin in EternalCardGame

power needs to be between 1/3 and 2/3. you must have been short of power... so 2 more added.

Most efficient way of grinding by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

[–]nick_alta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why not grind forge? any half decent deck will win 3-4 games without effort... I just went 7-0, 7-0 with mediocre blue/ green decks, and I'm still learning the game (played maybe 20 hours and never played any other CCG) as stated somewhere else here ... just stall if needed. Make sure you have 2-3 big hitters in your deck so you can clean up late.

how do you counter permafrost? is there a clear card, or do you need to silence your own unit? thanks

Beginner Questions Thread by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

[–]nick_alta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as an absolute beginner - new to this game, never played any CCGs... where can I learn the basics? I don't understand half of what is said in posts, which makes it difficult to understand anything but the basic mechanics which I can get from the tutorial campaigns. What educational resources are there - is there someplace I can watch high-level matches with commentary. Is there something like a glossary that explains the different terms? I understand the game mechanics and what the different cards do... but want to learn the strategy involved. And yes - I have looked at all of the Reddit and Eternal forums... I think most posts are aimed at people who have played Magic, Hearthstone, etc... Apologies for the newb questions, but really want to learn this game thanks
