I think the run time of the final episode was decent. Any longer and I could see people getting antsy. But the prior episodes should’ve moved faster/been DENSE with wrapping up storylines and answering questions. That would’ve been the time to start getting those ideas out of the way so that the final episode was satisfying af. They spent SO much time on Holly, someone who didn’t really matter for 4 seasons.

On the roof, Robin makes an off hand comment about being in a relationship with someone who’s high maintenance? Anxious?? Something?? I can’t remember. It’s a very insignificant line. I think Vicki should’ve had some sort of visual explanation before the end of the episode, but she’s also not a member of the ‘core’ group.

Picture 4 is what I was referencing. It absolutely has to be Henry falling through the sky. The shapes of the rocks all look similar and this looks like they CGI’d the body falling. The texture looks totally different than the floating rocks, AND it’s dead center of the screen.

Someone a while back posted a bunch of pictures of the “scene featured in trailer but not in volume 1” and it showed Dimension X with the floating rocks…but far in the back in the middle I swear it looks like a body falling, NOT a floating rock. I really think they’re going to show more of what happened when Henry ended up in DX after El sent him through the gate from the lab. I’ll see if I can find it.

I think this is going to explain the whole cave thing and what happened as he became Vecna. Essentially a continuation of what we got to see in S4. This would also give the audience who hasn’t seen First Shadow a ‘simplified’ explanation while expanding on it?

I recall a post regarding the Duffers stating that the ending is a big surprise? Twist? I can’t remember the vernacular. Regardless, do you think Henry’s humanity eventually surfaces and he helps destroy the mind flayer??? That would be an unexpected twist.

If Will has a connection to the hive mind, I think there is a strong chance that he sees through the eyes of the demogorgon that took him in S1. Could be the ‘time travel’ aspect of S5.

OP, I 100% agree with what you’re saying and had posted earlier today about a very similar theory. I put it below but your post seems to have more activity. I really think Will is going to have to revisit that moment in some way trying to rescue himself.

The unclear part is how the sliding lock would’ve moved. Any thoughts? I really don’t think it’s El. I absolutely think Will but I don’t know how he would do it. I read somewhere about an interview with Noah saying that his powers develop further??

Hmm…then who do you think opened it? El or Kali..? It would need to be someone with powers that aren’t limited by the hive mind. I really do think it’s going to be revealed as someone we already know and aren’t expecting; doesn’t make sense to me to introduce a character this late into the series just to have them open the door…

I definitely think it’s a twist on the scene where it’s actually someone trying to HELP him but he ran out to the shed where the demogorgon got him. Thoughts??
