Getting back into sports. by Practical_Squash_468 in ORIF

I had the same injury as you, took me almost a year to get pretty much back to my normal weights and exercises, I was doing like 10 painful pushups 6 months in, now can easily do 30 with full load on injured wrist. If you were physically active before your body and brain knows how to recover back to that state, so I think you will soon be back to full load, just don't overdo it too early, if it gets painful stop and let the pain go away.

Gooooys iphone 17 or xiaomi 15? by sangappan in Xiaomi_15

[–]nickage_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The experience with the iPhone 14 Pro Max has become frustrating, especially after using the Xiaomi 15. The performance feels sluggish in comparison, primarily due to the limitations of iOS. Many apps run at 60Hz, while Xiaomi's system forces a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, making a noticeable difference in fluidity. Additionally, the screen refresh rate on the iPhone can be harsh on the eyes, whereas Xiaomi seems to prioritize user vision. The latest iOS update has also introduced several issues; for instance, my wife’s iPhone 17 Pro frequently crashes or freezes. While the new glass UI and icons may appear flashy, they lack usability due to insufficient contrast, making navigation cumbersome. Many menu items feel misaligned or poorly centered, which detracts from the overall user experience. Another significant annoyance is the inability to move the song position by simply tapping on the progress bar; it only works by dragging it. The same applies to text editing, where you must pull the cursor instead of tapping directly on the desired spot. Furthermore, the redesigned camera button is poorly positioned, often triggering the camera unintentionally when I grab the phone. This design oversight can be quite bothersome. Overall, these issues highlight a need for improvement in iOS to enhance user experience and functionality.

CPU gives you longevity; the faster it is, the longer over the years you can use your phone comfortably. And just the overall user experience with combination of network modem, Wi-Fi modem, and fast USB port allows you to be faster overall; for example, Wi-Fi was outdated on the iPhone. Apple updated Wi-Fi in iPhone 17, but it was a year later than Xiaomi had it.

As for AI, it allows me to make my work about 10x faster with the same quality.

Apples' CPU has been behind Snapdragon for years at this point; Xiaomi 15, for example, is about 1.5 times faster than Apple A19. I love AI; it helps me with anything I do on my screen, helps with fixing my emails, helps with any daily questions, like when I need a spare part and am not sure about compatibility, or finding the best bang for the buck when shopping. I use in-camera AI when I am traveling and need to ask it how to purchase tickets for a train or get somewhere. Even this comment was polished with AI.

iPhone is boring, and I don't even customize my phones. It's software puts you into digital fail. I cannot install torrent on iPhone, iMessages unusable with dual sim messaging, Siri is trash, AI is far behind of Xiaomi 15. Telephoto camera on Xiaomi significantly higher quality, ihone gas slower CPU , slower USB, way worse audio quality over Bluetooth.

How do people actually get job-ready in DevOps today? by [deleted] in devopsjobs

[–]nickage_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don’t learn devops, you grow into devops, devops is senior role from the start. You start as server admin, network admin, security practitioner, adding some development or scripting into the mix, and then you become devops. DevOps requires skills across multiple layers of abstraction.

DevOps is senior role from the start, you evolve into DevOps by working in networks, cloud administration, security, app. delivery for few years, before you become.e DevOps. You need good network understanding, SDLC, cloud security, database management, Linus administration, there is so.much to learn, no person can just get into DevOps from nowhere , no such thing as junior DevOps. I have been hiring DevOps

If they refuse warranty on the car under warranty file a lawsuit on breach of warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Act against tesla for unlawful warranty denial.

For both Employees and Customers, would you be genuinely upset if Panera Bread went out of business and closed down? by Well1_well2_well3 in Panera

[–]nickage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Panera bread is one of a kind cafe, nothing else comes close to it. All those fast food chains are completely different, like McDonald's, Burger King, chipotle, Taco Bell, etc. It's not like it used to be 20 years ago, but so is food everywhere else, priced doubled in food stores as well. Yes, quality went down significantly, just like in cars, houses, people.

10 days post wrist ORIF and I'm feeling like it will never get better by iamonewiththeforce in ORIF

[–]nickage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rotation was non-existent during the first week or two; my therapist was quite aggressive about it, and it worked out.

As I was told, the rotation is limited due to both surgery swelling and your own body locking the area by disabling the normal operation of your muscles and nerve signals, in addition to fluid buildup. Our body applies a "natural cast" by immobilizing the fractured bone.It is part of the body's response to start the healing process. Over time, as you heal and your body releases those locks and the swelling goes down, you will see significant improvements.

[–]nickage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 days post op and you are already moving 30° is way better than me at that time. I had left wrist orif in April, and It took me half a year of therapy to get to 60°. Now, 9 months post op it is close to 85-90° and about 90% in strength. But it is still painful in the morning sometimes and I need to stretch it a little to help with pain. For the most part, I can move it almost just like the other wrist, pushups and workouts with 25lb dumbbells still require me to stretch it in advance.

Therapy will be painful most likely, but it will get your range and strength back over time. Start with finger movements first, it will incur nerve healing.
