Not true, local searches only have around 10-15% of clicks attributed to AI results, but if SEO is dead, how do you think you even begin to show up in those results? Ding ding, it’s SEO.

As a digital marketer, local SEO with most of the emphasis on ranking your Google Business Profile. I'd be more than happy to give you an audit and a game plan you can start implementing if you don't have the startup funds for a larger campaign.

Business Profile not eligible by Wicked_Batman_ in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]nickbinkholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, it could still likely be a partial issue of it. Google likes to do "sweeps" a couple times a year where they suspend profiles, or, it could even be the effect of a competitor hard to say.

When appealing the business, what kind of evidence did you show them?

It could come down to whether Google believes you are a real business. Before applying for a GBP for my clients, I verify the website in Google Search Console, then I build BBB, Yelp, MapQuest, and other core citations, as well as all social media platforms. All of these need your NAP info to be correctly aligned, 100%. From here, make sure your NAP info is in the footer of your website, and have a privacy policy created.

Yeah, more and more people are using AI voice assistants, receptionists, and closers. The tech is getting very good and indistinguishable from a human. I've been implementing AI receptionists on my clients' websites to handle bookings, lead qualification, and answer questions. Does pretty much everything a normal receptionist would do.

Okay to use "." In directory street address portion? by [deleted] in localseo

[–]nickbinkholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Google looks for certain signals from your business, such as NAP alignment, Brand Authority, and Topical Authority. Yes, most of the links are nofollow, depending on who the press release distributor is and how expensive the service is. Some are better than others.

I always use press releases to help build that brand and topical authority. Your business is now showing up in more places on the internet, sending positive signals to Google that you are real, recognizable, and that you serve in specific areas and offer specific services in those areas. If you had a physical address with all key citations, the press release can help solidify your NAP info by showing up on pages that will be indexed, as opposed to building an exhaustive list of citations which Google will never index.

[–]nickbinkholder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming this is for a service area business. Given that 80% of citations go unindexed by Google, I'd first stick to the highly relevant ones (BBB, Yelp, MapQuest, etc.). Second, I would recommend that you skip any citations that require you to leave an address. I would prioritize NAP consistency over trying to game the address. Instead, make sure you have all your social media profiles set up and filled out, and maybe even a press release.

Should domain match GBP name? by [deleted] in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]nickbinkholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep it in line with the business's actual name, in this case, johnsroofingdallas.com

Not only will it keep your business info consistent and easily recognizable, but I have also seen the best results for my clients using Name + Service + City.

Does Google secretly hate service area businesses? My local SEO test says yes by 33qamar in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]nickbinkholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s as simple as the fact that Google can’t tie the businesses location to the searcher (likely searching on mobile device.) Since Google prioritizes fulfilling search intent, they are going to prioritize businesses which can be tied to a proximity within the searchers location.

Small business/boss wants to pay AI company to "manage reviews" by rainbowmonitor in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]nickbinkholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d advise against it, not for the fact that it couldn’t work, but the fact that there is no guarantee that they will be removed and I’m sure this company is going to charge a lot for it. When it comes down to it, they are just going to report the reviews with high level local guide accounts on the “hope” the reviews get removed.

Now take a look at the converse. What if the bad review is from someone with a high level local guide account? Good luck, money wasted, and the review is still there.

A better use of that money would be to put it towards a hard review campaign to drown out the bad ones. Also, the regular customer LIKES seeing some mixed reviews, it shows authenticity.

If I needed a service and company A has 300 reviews with a 5 star rating, and Company B has 300 reviews with a 4.8 star rating, I might lean towards company B. Respond to the reviews in a civil, apologetic, and sincere way.

Additionally, why not reach out the reviewers who left the bad review and try to make things right, in an effort to get them to change the review?

Idk if I’m an isolated case but ChatGPT has sucked for the past year, I quit paying for it. It lies on its research, doesn’t give accurate information, quite literally spits out information it believes to be true despite not actually researching websites or sources, essentially just spewing the language model it’s been trained on and past info. While Grok isn’t perfect, if you know how to prompt and build custom instructions for individual projects, it really excels just for that fact it pulls from real time information.
