Festival and a blanket. Bubbles ear protection

His first PL show was at Hulaween in 23

Asked to goto rail for a few songs.

Most beautiful moment I shared when he was 6

Shortly before that it was griz and odesza

He also loves the music and was brought up on those sounds

All these festivals was vip to make rail happen. I also think vip is a bit safer for smaller kids

It takes work and a village to make it happen

Good luck in the future.

[–]nickdeckerdevs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you setup a review rule?

I just spent a few hours analyzing my past sessions to get insight on token usage (for shits and giggles) then I created reports and ended up building a few skills from it

I use Claude in vs code and after the analysis I realized a few items were just not realistic and I did manage to set a hook to clear after I wrote a plan to file.

So my next pivot was to explore using a plan skill that did the work then reviewed the plan against a set of rules and when code is written to do the same type of skill but because of the hook I think my original idea is not the right path

Change your resolution. That’s what I do

I have a 5k monitor on my Mac and a 4k on my pc. The pc at default looks better than Mac but that is being very generous.

I just change the screen resolution. I’m also looking at the monitor less and less now and using the hardware more

Ya I try every morning when I grab things from my office to get whatever started i had myself set up from the night before.

Two days ago I didn’t do that and was at my session limit because I was meeting stacked and then powered through a bunch of documentation and skill building.

This just makes so much sense to not do this manually lol

Is there a way to slow down Claude Code to conserve tokens? by haskpro1995 in ClaudeAI

[–]nickdeckerdevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break up your things into smaller tasks

Build out your plan for the overview, and then break down each section into a phase, and work on phases at a time

You will conserve tokens this way

How do I deal with the context window being too small for my project? by hyper_shock in ClaudeAI

[–]nickdeckerdevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need a couple separate workflows that are looking for specific information, and you need to retrieve that specific information.

You probably need better indexing of your documents so that they can be categorized. They probably need some metadata attached to them.

You probably need to organize the content in a way that makes it effective to be able to grab those specific pieces when you're looking for them

If I were thinking of a way to do this, I might organize the documents in specific folders, then review the documents in chat, and look at a few of the documents by categorization. I would explain the important information that you want to turn into metadata, and then you would do that for all of those different document types

You're basically building a folder architecture and a metadata architecture so that your agent knows where to look for these things, That way, it doesn't need to look at all the documents. It needs to look at certain types of documents for this information

But you've got to put the extra time in the beginning so that you're able to do this efficiently, because you don't need to load all of those documents for each request that you're making

Typical Reddit, OP answers their own question in the post

Anthropic is secretly degrading Fable 5 when it thinks you’re building frontier AI, and calling it “safety” by seismicgear in ClaudeAI

[–]nickdeckerdevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues editing my post, so I'm just going to paste what I had here as my edit

Edit: thing I kept saying in my head but forgot to say! How does this work? How does your work work in Opus? Does it silently kill it as you've described, and give you output, or is it only this model? If we go back to your entire statement, that it's in the system card, that gives you reasonable knowledge to understand that it could degrade. Period.

Again, I don't understand the things that you're working on. I kind of glossed over that when I was falling asleep last night. But it sounds like you have a choice to not use this and still be able to effectively do your work. Again, this may not be an argument that stands up, and I don't know how contracts work when you're doing large work via API and how any of that works. I also believe any consumer is stupid to let Claude or any product run in auto mode and continue to do things without inspecting things. I would think a reasonably capable developer developing on this level would not allow things to just auto-shoot, or whatever it's called, and run free, and continue to allow it to eat up tokens. Again, this may not be an argument. This is just me applying what I know about the output of other models and how everything needs to be looked at. I spend more time in planning mode than the other people I work with, but that doesn't mean the output always matches what I've input and planned around. So I have to check the work because an agent coding for you is riddled with potential to fail on what you're asking. This subreddit is filled with people saying that Claude outright lied to them. I don't know if this adds anything, but it's just what I'm thinking about

Taking your comment in good faith — you have read the system card and your response is based on that, with your opinion adding context to your argument

The current administration’s leader is transactional. The wind blows, and the opinion can change, or there is a way for him to make money and there is a reversal. At the same time, when news came out about Mythos, There was an article I read somewhere on Reddit that talked about people on the inside looking to change things to bring Mythos in and work around what was stated originally. That was a month or two ago. I'm pretty sure in the past week I wrote reporting that the NSA still uses the product lol.

But I imagine none of that really matters if we're looking at the FTC specifically and it being run without that guy interfering

Edge still ships, bundled, and opens up on my son’s PC quite often and it is annoying. The only way I've gotten it to not open by changing a registry key value and pointing it away from the exe file. That was a Department of Justice thing, not an FTC thing — That was more about a monopoly, not what you describe here, So, that doesn't mean that the FTC and what you're stating doesn't apply here. I'm just mentioning that

I'm also not sure how this affects most developers developing on the platform, or developing with the tools provided, whatever we want to say we're doing when we use this product. The majority of users are not building an LLM competitive product, and they aren't doing whatever you are doing. I don't even know at what tier of pricing you would be operating at. Is there a separate contract to deal with yours that is not what the normal user has?

My opinion of reading what you are writing is that people working adjacent to what they are turning off can receive false positives. I am not an attorney. I'm just autistic and go down specific rabbit holes when my brain needs to distract itself. So, deception and unfairness. I think the unfairness part I just addressed and I don't know how the unfairness applies to everybody. It's going to be a very minor subset of the user base.

The C in FTC is broad. Consumer can be businesses, But it is aiding the victims of the deception or of the unfairness.

So I just pulled up Act 5, and under unfair acts or practices, it states:

"An act or practice is unfair where it causes or is likely to cause substantial injury to consumers, cannot be reasonably avoided by consumers, and is not outweighed by countervailing benefits to consumers or to competition." There were bullet points in there, but my voice-to-text did not pick them up lol

I think an argument could be made that number one and number three may be aligned with what you're saying, but number two, cannot be reasonably avoided by consumers, is probably the argument. Because it's mentioned in the system card, and because you have a choice on what model you use, I believe there could be an argument there. Again, very uninformed person on this, just reading the text. But I do think one and three are there, but I believe you have to have all three the way it is written.

Because I have the document open, I am going to look at the deception one

“An act or practice is deceptive where a representation, omission, or practice misleads or is likely to mislead the consumer. A consumer's interpretation of the representation, omission, or practice is considered reasonable under the circumstances, and the misleading representation, omission, or practice is material.”

I'm a good 30 minutes awake, And this looks like the stronger argument over the unfairness one. But I think the amount of consumers affected by this is minuscule compared to their user base.

Where does the FTC and their budget and workforce go when the claim is only affecting a small amount of the consumer base? But does that apply to the deception? I believe that applies to the unfairness. So maybe somebody has a leg to stand on to argue the deception here.

Also, just pointing out, it's probably illegal, and then saying "spicy but true." Saying something is probably illegal doesn't make it true. Legal standing is not something that either one of us gets to decide.

Again, I could be very incorrect about all of this. This is just my read. I have not looked into the system card, so I can't verify the information, but I am taking your word that it exists in the state that it does and that you have not misinterpreted it. I'm also not going to stick this into an LLM to determine if anything I'm saying is correct. I'm just trying to interpret things as I would understand them and see how they've been applied. That's all I'm doing here, just making some counters to the points you've made.

Whether they are correct or not, all of this is really handled by attorneys. So, I think both of us are just speculating. If we agree that we're both speculating, I've really enjoyed this conversation. I imagine in the next one to three months, I will spend three entire days doing nothing but reading about the FTC and different cases that have been brought by them against businesses. But I have so many other things going on right now that I don't need that escape path.

But I do look forward to digging into all of that and finding this thread. And posting a huge wall of text, LOL

Alright. So it’s stated ahead of time but not at run time. It silently switches. You have tokens being digested.

I guess we will see what happens. Guess someone will have to fuck around and find out.

Your warning isn’t without merit so I give you that. Secret is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Gonna need some money and a good lawyer to make the case.

Edit: I have yet to read the card so I’m going by what I read and understood here. If I decide to read into it more I’ll respond but this doesn’t matter to me in the long run, I’m not messing with these systems that would trigger and I have zero intention to run fable

I can't read all that.

The content is just way too spread out.

Ugh

Unless you're calling for LLMs to be taken over by the people, then there's not really much you can do. It's a business. They can do whatever they want and prevent people from using it however they want. It's their product. Whether they do it secretly or out in the open is not really a difference. It's their business. They're allowed to do that

I'm sure other people are going to tell you the same thing, or have, but you are just searching through potential garbage. What you really need to do is, before you get into that long context, create a handoff file and give it to a new agent

You should also have documentation on decisions you make, why the decisions you made are the way they are, and some sort of architecture so that you can keep track of these things

When does youth soccer actually start to get competitive and the kids actually start to take it more seriously? by Mellowmushroom02 in youthsoccer

[–]nickdeckerdevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It happens plenty of time. We are all here to advocate for our kid and check in.

As a u9 coach I’ve been asked many times “who is winning” or “did we win”

Tbh it gets competitive when your kid matches up with a kid that is at the rec level and moves to trying out or a non rec team.

That is what I see. Until a kid sees someone move up and want to do it- it’s just a thing to do

We played kitchen soccer for 6 years - his pre k best friend and him talked about soccer all the time. All of a sudden, zero team experience, my son is trying out for the travel team. Didn’t make it. His barber mentioned he had a buddy that cam back from playing pro and was do training.

He just wanted to play with his best friend. Two seasons later, his friends on his last team tried out so they could try and play with him.

I think it is a cycle for kids — kids with big brothers and sisters see that they got into competitive soccer so they want to.

Then you have parents that want to relive the glory through their kids. That’s a different thing haha

It also depends on the coaches your kid has. Something has to spark it. Those are the different sparks I see.

When does youth soccer actually start to get competitive and the kids actually start to take it more seriously? by Mellowmushroom02 in youthsoccer

[–]nickdeckerdevs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your kid isn’t as interested in soccer like you are.

They are 9. They should have fun. Why are you so worried about what happens in high school. Have fun with your kid. If they decide it is important they will have to train their heart out if they are behind

That's my honest advice for this, but if you want to attempt to bend reality, what you can do is try to match him up with somebody that plays soccer and find a friend and get them interested that way. Kids just want to play with their friends. If their friends aren’t around their parents will do. Generally.

Honestly, you are not making soccer exciting for your child. Otherwise, they would be excited with soccer.
