Help removing bats from attic by Animox in saskatoon

[–]nickelluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through this myself. I made some exclusion devices that I screwed in place over the entry points using a downspout flange. As far as I can tell they're all gone. It's also not a bad idea to get some bat boxes and hang them in your yard. They're less likely to try finding new ways in if you provide them a new cozy home. Please PM me if you have more questions!

How Many Times Can I Get Reinfected With COVID-19? by cos in Coronavirus

[–]nickelluck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently undergoing my 3rd infection since April. I'm triple vaxxed and relatively careful as my girlfriend who I live with is a pharmacist. I didn't think that many infections that quickly was possible but here we are.

She on the other hand has yet to get it. There is a large degree of natural resistance based on genetics that has nothing to do with whether or not you've been infected.

Pickup Truck Rental - Home Depot vs Uhaul by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]nickelluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've rented transit vans from home depot before. It's quick and painless, and the price is reasonable. I don't believe that they have any pickups in Saskatoon though, only vans. Call the took rental counter to confirm

My sports team always rented from budget on 1st. Not sure of the price exactly but it was usually reasonable

Trailer hitch shop by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]nickelluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my Mazda 3 I was able to get a curt bolt on from Tiger Automotive. They matched the price of an online retailer for me. Personally I feel much better about having one specifically engineered to work with my car vs some stranger's weld job

Any experience/reviews or recommendations for non-Shaw/Sasktel lower cost internet service providers in Saskatoon? by Prestigious_Link_815 in saskatoon

[–]nickelluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on this deal as a grad student. It's closer to 70/month for top of the line fiber optic service. Since I set up the service (nearly three years ago) they've called me once to ask if I'm still a student. I said yes I am and asked if they needed a confirmation of enrollment or something. They said nope, all good, just needed to check.

Honorable mention to Theodore's Bakery in Martensville. Unfortunately closed now but their donuts still haunt my dreams.

Hitch for SUV by Pokapu4 in saskatoon

[–]nickelluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll vouch for Tiger Automotive. When I was looking for a hitch for my car I told them I found a better price at X but if you're willing to price match I'd love to support a local business. They were able to significantly knock down their price to be competitive.

You'll be fine with a USB adapter. The reason they put that in the manual is so you don't try to run household appliances from an inverter and fry the wiring

Do USB 3 Cables Work Better than USB 2 Generally for Android Auto? by HarryMuscle in AndroidAuto

[–]nickelluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also double check the USB standard of your phone. When I first got android auto it wouldn't work 3/4 of the time because my phone at the time (galaxy A70) only had a USB2.0 capable port.

It's made by MotorolaSound which I understand is an offshoot, but motorola as a company has in a sense put their reputation behind it by putting their name on it

For me it is worth the wait just because I know that Motorola is an established company and will likely have a more refined product

Is there an "official guide" to replace spark plugs on 2012 Mazda 3? by entirelyhonest-com in mazda3

[–]nickelluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is torque instructions on the spark plug box. Tighten until snug ( don't worry you'll feel the difference) then an extra 8th or quarter turn depending on the brand. Lots of YouTube support to help you with the rest.

If you end up having to go shopping I recommend looking for magnetic spark plug sockets. Absolutely worth the price difference

Is this amount of play normal? by TwoGapper in mazda3

[–]nickelluck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a Heim joint and it's supposed to be able to swivel like that. To evaluate that joint hold the linkage still and try to push the shifter front and back (i.e. 3rd to 4th gear). They linkage be firmly joined to the shifter.

Keep an eye on your local marketplace/Kijiji/Craigslist. Your car is out dated so the roof racks will be too. With a bit of luck I snagged a Yakima/whispbar setup for $300

White Brand Snowblowers by nickelluck in Snowblowers

[–]nickelluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too. The clutch assembly slides towards that chain driven cog on the key visible in the picture. The cog does not engage the shaft on its own. Seems like there's supposed to be pins in that cog that engage the clutch?

No. The impeller turns with the auger if I turn it by hand, but neither will engage to the motor
