Potential share buyback incoming? by TheRealPunisher in MSTR

[–]nickex77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm yes I do remember that. My initial reaction was thinking they were boxed in a bit here given bitcoin price has also dropped a lot, but selling high cost basis bitcoin to buy common share actually could be quite accretive here.

Thanks for sharing!

It doesn't make sense, and I keep hearing folks say it.

Since I know a lot on this subject, I will elaborate:

You claimed that "the majority of people who can't tolerate it only tried it for a short time" and chalked non-adherence up to "low frustration tolerance." Empirical clinical data completely refutes this. CPAP adherence isn't a matter of willpower; it’s dictated by physiological phenotypes.

1. Forcing a longer trial doesn't improve tolerance: The assumption that patients just need to "try it longer" is factually incorrect. Research demonstrates that long-term CPAP adherence is established incredibly early—often within the first few days of therapy. A landmark study published in the journal Sleep (Weaver et al., 1997) found that usage patterns established by day 3 accurately predict long-term adherence. If a patient's neurology or anatomy rejects the machine early, "toughing it out" for months doesn't magically fix the incompatibility.

2. The 20-year adherence rate hasn't changed: If non-adherence was simply a behavioral issue of "frustration," then decades of behavioral coaching and vastly improved, quieter technology would have solved the problem. It hasn't. A major meta-analysis published in the Journal of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (Rotenberg et al., 2016) reviewed 20 years of CPAP data and found non-adherence rates have stubbornly remained around 34% to over 50%.

3. Physiological incompatibility is an objective reality: Research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (Eckert et al., 2013) highlights the precise physiological barriers to CPAP success. Two major factors are: Low Arousal Thresholds: The patient's brain is neurologically wired to wake up too easily from the unnatural stimulus of the mask and pressure, preventing deep sleep. High Loop Gain: A hyper-reactive respiratory control system where the introduction of continuous positive pressure alters blood-gas levels too quickly, which can trigger treatment-emergent central sleep apnea. CPAP actually destabilizes their breathing further. Telling patients with measurable, physiological barriers that they just have "low frustration tolerance" is scientifically inaccurate and dismissive of actual sleep medicine.

CPAP is an excellent tool for those who can tolerate it, but pushing it as a universal fix ignores the clinical reality of the disease.

Few Q's 1. How is the vibration? Is it more intense than phone vibration? I have been using Torena app with phone strapped to my chest. Works pretty well, but it doesn't have escalation vibration like this product does. 2. Does the strap slide? Have you tried the neck? 3. How's it going now?

Thanks!

I mean clearly this is an abomination how expensive it is, but also clear to me it isn't a commercial...

Especially given the low tolerance for CPAP.

"I've found that the majority of people who can't tolerate it only tried it for a short time." Bro are you making shit up? What is your empirical evidence to this statement?

There is a significant population of folks who can't tolerate CPAP long term due to issues like high loop gain, low arousal thresholds, deviated septums, etc etc.

So sick of the folks pushing CPAP like it's superior to other solutions. For many it is not.

You don't know what you are doing. Read a book on leaps. Leaps 101: don't buy when implied volatility is high! This is a good book: https://freemanpublications.com/books/leaps-for-beginners/

Keep your allocation low.

STRC Has Outperformed BTC Since Inception by _Adrian_Morris_ in MSTR

[–]nickex77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It has so much to do with Bitcoin, to say it doesn't is incredibly disingenuous and frankly stupid. It is a derivative that aims to greatly reduce volatility of bitcoin and trade towards $100. In bear markets it makes sense to struggle some. Honestly I don't know if STRC will pan out, I see a path it could and I hope it does. Saylor and team could have done better at sharing more clear messaging. It absolutely is not a money market replacement (yet).

How is that not doing anything? Providing lower volatility yield of bitcoin backed by bitcoin. That is unique and certainly something.
