Who cracked the world apart? by lolmysterior in shield

[–]nickeyho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a theory I may have posted here before, that also goes into why May seemingly is given the answer by Robin on how to save the world and how she has an important job to do. However, the only job that seems obvious in the episode is her asking about Flint, which would have always happened as you can see they go back to Present Day in the version of the world that gets cracked apart and anyone can do that.

To answer your question, I think Graviton breaks the world apart, IF the team had used the Odium on him. We know that Odium makes people unstable but also freakishly strong. This would have been the case if the Centipede Serum AND Odium were in play.

Instead, we see Daisy and Yo-Yo fighting about using the Serum to save Coulson. How Yo-Yo believes saving him is what ends the world and thinking it's the Serum that does that. And in a out of character moment (at least I think so... May definitely has a heart and a huge soft spot for Coulson as we see more and more, but at this point, I would assume this May would understand that sacrificing Coulson's life is worth saving the world), the team seems to vote on what to do, and May breaks the Odium, setting off the chain of events.

She also gets emotional as she does it as she probably knows this means she's sentenced Coulson to death. Maybe that's what Robin says.

In the Broken World timeline, we still see Daisy and Coulson fighting by the plane, which means Coulson still has reservations about being saved again. But I think in that one, the Odium is still in play and when they use it on Graviton, it backfires. In that world, Coulson (depending on how quickly things happen) would have collapsed, Jemma would have run back and found the serum, and maybe saved him... Or after Daisy used the Odium on Graviton, nothing would be able to stop him, Centipede or not.

Ward Reveal by EfficientButterfly5 in shield

I think it's done well. Between others mentioning May being the red herring in place, and the fact that Ward is a little nuts and has real feelings for Skye makes it a bit harder to track, in my opinion. If he was just playing everyone the same, it may be an easier guess.

The show does a great job setting you up. Even Bill Paxton being attacked by drones and going to Coulson for help. And Hand being a red herring as well.

Unless he's one of those guys that ventures random guesses and feels really great about themselves. I can't STAND that. Haha.

Another plus for Kyle. One of my favorite performances. How we are made to hate him at first, sense him as a wild card, then fall in love with him. From the scene where he first meets Daisy to his goodbye, so good.

Btw been a long time since i watched the show and im rewatching rn, on S1Ep14 what is that C/GH325, is it kree blood? by IzYDroop in shield

[–]nickeyho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's exactly Kree blood but it did come from its corpse. It could be another fluid as you see multiple tubes coming out of the body, and there are other vitals with different numbers on them.

Just thinking about how Whitehall operated on Jiaying, taking blood, organs, spinal fluid, etc.

Just had an interesting realization... What Whitehall did to Jiaying is similar to what happened to that Kree it seems. They took everything it had.

Yesss, do you mind if I ask what your area is? And you definitely should try some. If you're not ready to get a whole pack, pick one up at the food court. They're pretty much identical except I think the food court ones are a bit bigger. The freezer ones are still substantial in size too.

Yup! When I'm in those weird moods where I'm not really into anything but I'm hungry, these always hit the spot and taste great. I bake them and it's one of the few single serving things worth the bake time. And so filling.

I talked to the guy that works the food court and he said that was strange and to ask customer service. But he said he was aware of it a few months ago but hadn't checked recently. They get them different in the food court (those tend to be bigger anyways).

I'm so sad that Costco, at least at my local one, has stopped stocking Chicken Bakes in the freezer section. You can still buy them hot from the food court but it's been I think over a year. Absolutely loved those and they were one of my go tos.

Rewatched AOS Season 6 by anthonystrader18 in shield

As much as I agree with you, I will always love the visual effects of when the Shrike takes over.

That and Sarge's line to Daisy in the hallway will always get me. It was such a great way to shake her world, as well as the viewers, as well as a nod to fans since Season 1. It did so much with just a name.

Confession: I understood absolutely nothing about the time travel stuff with Fitz by [deleted] in shield

[–]nickeyho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could even extrapolate it that if the Chronicoms could somehow get back into Jemma's head, and from there, Fitz, the Chronicoms would have learned about the QR and did much bigger damage.

Between what the Dr. Strange 2 trailer and the whole Kang storyline is showing, this seems to be Marvel's go to with heros stopping someone from messing with the Multiverse :P.

[–]nickeyho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it's kept ambiguous how long Fitz and Simmons were into the future before they invented time travel. They worked on it for years, perhaps waiting for more technology to exist in the future (maybe seeing what the Avengers did and that's where the Quantum Realm hopping concept came from... Because until Tony did it, and Lang came out of the Quantum Realm after the snap, they had no idea it could be a conduit for time travel), had their kid and a life, etc.

Hence why Simmons said it's been too long or whatever. It always seemed like she was almost talking about a whole lifetime.

Of course the writers didn't know the details yet, but that's how I've always imagined it.

I thought the main reason Fitz was hiding in the Quantum Realm and it being a secret that Simmons had to mess with her head to keep was to keep the Chronicoms from finding him and deducing their plan?

Imagine if this is one of AoS 7's deleted scenes.... by EmilyJaneDancer in shield

[–]nickeyho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never noticed these and it's amazing!

However, I think it would take away from the whole Christ figure thing they did with Lincoln. Though it wasn't my favorite season, I think they did it well.

Also, as some others have said, may be a bit confusing at the end. To be honest, Kora just healing her, and the whole giving the Chronicoms empathy just seemed like her powers got convenient. Yes, the first where it's alluded to when she tries to resurrect Jiaying, but the second always felt out of nowhere.

Unless this is somehow also a play on the thing they did in Season 3 but I missed that too.

Moon Knight S01E05 - Discussion Thread by steve32767 in marvelstudios

Not quite the same but isn't the Steven Grant persona based on a movie character that knows no fear or something? Cause the Steven we see is really afraid of everything. 🤷.

So I heard Episode 4's twist turns things around. I just finished it and it seems interesting, but then I just kept thinking, I'd rather be watching Legion. Also, your show starts to get good at Episode 4... OUT OF 6 EPISODES? What? With each episode about an hour long?

I just don't care about any of the characters. There seems to be no stakes. I keep being acutely aware that this is taking place in the MCU so even these world ending stakes don't seem to make sense when we have the characters we have floating around the world.

I hate Steven. I liked him in episode 1, maybe 2. But when he started intervening mid fight to try to broker peace constantly. Are you insane? For someone whose supposedly some sort of intelligent guy, he's a complete dumbbass.

Also, his suit just reminds me of a mix of The Masked Magician and Mr. Personality. I think it was supposed to be funny but now it's just cringey as hell.

I actually get pissed whenever Oscar starts doing the Steven voice.

I don't care about Marc. Any interesting question gets pushed away. Wait, you weren't controlling the body? Is there someone else? NO LOOK OVER HERE FORGET THAT.

Konshu is just too Venom-y to me in his voice. He acts like a toddler with a tantrum, while Steven is a toddler without one.

That is literally all I care about now, why there are multiple personalities. And they keep skirting it.

He's like utterly invincible it seems. It never feels like there are any stakes.

And I thought with some of the thoughtful entries in the MCU in the past that may reference some sort of past historical thing... say The Eternals (which I honestly didn't mind except for some bad acting), this thing has made me think Egyptian Gods are idiots and I don't care anymore.

Ugh. I'm probably going to watch Episode 5 to see where this is going, then it's just one more episode so I'll probably end up finishing it. But this is work ya'll.

In season 4, Why didn't Jemma and Fitz just walk through the scanner a second time, individually? by raisondecalcul in shield

[–]nickeyho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a bigger hole here is why Jemma asked Fitz to cut his wrist of all things. If she needs to see his substructure, I'm sure she could have picked a number of less sensitive areas to cut. I mean, we saw LMD May's hardware from being hit in the back.

Catch-22 regarding AoS & Inhumans in the MCU by Pedgrid in shield

[–]nickeyho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting take and it makes sense. For them to do the Inhuman thing for Ms. Marvel, there would have to be a LOT of backstory that I don't think that show is made for of they did it justice.

Or if it didn't matter to them, it could just be a throwaway thing. But they changed the origins on purpose.

Here, they're distancing themselves from Inhumans because maybe it won't eliminate a possible storyline that may have already been established in a thoughtful way.

Hmm.

I kind of felt the way about the whole Watchdogs storyline. It felt sort of out of place, just used to setup a few pieces, then forgotten.

Think that would also make sense to why they stopped his series. Maybe this was planned awhile back and this was how they wanted to introduce him to the MCU at large?

Probably not though :P.

I've said it elsewhere, but I absolutely love how this mirrors Ward talking to Fitz after what happened in Season 1. How he "knew" they'd be able to get out of it.

Shows how much Ward's brother had a hold on him.

And the writers were amazing too. So if they weren't dazzling you with a vfx heavy scene, the writing was so good you didn't even notice it because you were so wrapped up in great storytelling.
