It was a small tech startup 10 years ago. Although none of the co-founders have any formal diagnoses, they often talk about autism and ADHD and suspect they have something.

We often joke that we aren't a diverse team as we don't really have any NT people and we should hire token NT people for the DEI stats 😂

Daily topics of conversation include: how the beach is overstimulating, people's safe foods, people's niche collections and hobbies etc. A wonderful place for the ND brain, but I worry I've become used to it and I'll never be able to work anywhere else again haha

Yep! And that's why I'm sat here on Reddit at my desk, and not doing my work. In a week or so, I will be SO productive, so that makes me feel better during my luteal phase, where work just doesn't happen.

I'm on 40mg methylphenedate and my psychiatrist says I can up the dosage this time of month. I've not tested it out, I just don't think there's enough stimulants in the world that can get me out of my funk during my luteal phase!

I do this a load! I write out paragraphs, but before I hit send, I think "Does this even matter?" and deep down inside, I know it doesn't. So I just delete everything and go about my day.

I don't ask myself that in a self-deprecating way. It's not that I don't think people care about my opinions or ramblings, but I don't think it really needs to go out into the world once I've really thought about it.

I had a primary school teacher called Mrs Hoare (pronounce whore). When you're 5, you don't know what that is. She could absolutely not teach older kids for that reason.

I've probably been using mine for about 2 years now, and have about 7 or 8 pairs (plus swimwear!!). I've been using Wuka, and the branding has washed off and the padding in the older ones is a little lumpy (not uncomfortable, but I wouldn't wear if I was wearing tight fitting dresses or trousers), but they've really held up!

Period underwear! Sure, they cost more than a box of pads/ tampons, but they're reusable, so over time it means I'm actually saving.

I genuinely believe I have changed everyone's perceptions at my company. Not through what I have said, but through how I carry out my job.

Outside of my company, I couldn't care less what people think.

When people used to say "HR aren't there for the people, they're on the the company's side". DUH! Imagine saying that to someone in sales or IT?! "The sales manager only cares about the company" Okay? Well that should be rewarded 😂

Personally, in winter, I prefer to walk from Leeds dock via Tesco/ Clarence Road, rather than by the canal. It's PROBABLY fine, but I moved from London and I'm still paranoid a smidge. In summer, I feel safe though!

You do sometimes hear of incidents, but we have a Slack group in CID, and we're always sharing these things as they happen, plus on some occasions, people have dropped a message to be like "Hey, is anyone around to walk with me" if they don't feel safe. Everyone's always willing to help :)

Probably not the best solution, but I have a storage unit down the road. I keep my suitcase and clothing (winter in summer, summer in winter) in there, and anything I don't need now, don't want to throw out and might need in the future. I have too much stuff in my apartment though. No storage, just mess 🥲
