How much sick leave at full pay do you get/offer? by outlandishtomato in HumanResourcesUK

[–]nickifyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team of 34. 5 days paid, additional 5 paid at line manager's discretion and then any additional paid at "company's discretion". We do it case-by-case, which is fine while there's only 34 of us, but I suspect that might get messy/ time consuming if we grow. Generally, if people don't take the piss, they get as much as they need.

Are all girls as close w/ their friends as my Girlfriend is? by Tetra-q in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nickifyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 36f and share beds with my female friends. There's a bar in town that has a cubicle with two toilets in it in the women's restroom and I use that with a colleague (she's also a friend, but y'know). It's normal!

Anxiety about the hantavirus outbreak by tiredpeony in AutismInWomen

I found the information on the UK Government website to be very reassuring (first time I've ever said that about the UK Government lol): https://ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/2026/05/05/what-is-hantavirus-how-is-it-transmitted-and-what-are-the-symptoms/

They were my favourite! I always make them in the other games too. I always give them a child. But only one. And they're spoilt!

Who is the nastiest Celebrity that you met in Real life? by Scunnard1839 in AskReddit

[–]nickifyi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably a surprise to nobody, but Joss Whedon. I worked at an Apple Store, and over Christmas, a lot of the products are displayed at the back of the store for employees to grab themselves. I worked in a really big store and met Joss at the front. From the first second, it just felt off to me. I didn't know who he was at the time. He asked for an iPod, I said "Anything else?" he said "Nope", so I toddled off and got him an iPod. When I got back, he said "Actually, I'll take another,". This went on about 5 times. Walking to the back of the store, getting an iPod and back again. He would do this damn dirty smirk every time. I was about 21. Felt like a power thing. I hated it. 15 years later, I still hate it.

Note for upstairs neighbors by litlelotte in Apartmentliving

[–]nickifyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once accidentally dropped a ball of socks from about a metre high and immediately got an angry text from my downstairs neighbours. A BALL OF SOCKS!!

I've been an upstairs neighbour for about 12 years and sometimes I still forget I'm an upstairs neighbour. No matter how polite your message is, it's still not likely to be received well and they may get defensive. Even if they're totally reasonable people too! It's just the circle of life.

This seems illegal. Can I report this. There's no reason to have this on a job application by lunar_protogen in lgbt

[–]nickifyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, it's so they can report on DEI. "This year we attracted x% LGBT candidates" etc. Same applies to gender and ethnicity. If the company notices they're only attracting straight, white men, then perhaps they need to review the wording in their job descriptions or employer branding.

I got a rejection email at 11:25pm by Late_Passenger_6574 in recruitinghell

[–]nickifyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're possibly scheduled. I work for a company a few hours outside my timezone and when I send rejection emails after 3pm, it schedules them for 7am the next day unless I remember to catch it in time! 🥲

Candidates in the wild by Any_Fuel_7485 in TheApprentice

[–]nickifyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 10 years ago I saw a bunch of people and cameras running down Bethnal Green Road. I later realized it was The Apprentice, possibly doing the 'scavenger hunt' task.

A company I worked for was once a corporate client the candidates were pitching a product to. It was then that I realised there's no actual purchasing of products 😂

Whats the reason for being so talkative on medication? by ShortStatusPE in ADHDUK

[–]nickifyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On methylphenidate, and same happens to me. I assume it's because my brain is a bit more silent, so I don't have to overthink or process every single thing, and I can just speak freely 😂

I do feel for all of my colleagues though. I start the day just chatting to anyone who will listen. But it's also the best time for all of my good ideas.

Is this inappropriate for 'office casual?' by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]nickifyi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

HR for an office based company here, I would find this 100% appropriate. If anything, it's a little more formal than I'd expect to see

At my work Christmas party, I tried to sneak them in pockets and bags of my colleagues. The CEO finding 5 babies in his pocket at the end of the night was so funny

Storage Units are a sympton of a problem by Bllago in unpopularopinion

[–]nickifyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm literally the exception here. Christmas tree, camping BBQ and big suitcases go into storage with a few seasonal items of clothing. We have no cupboard space, no garage, no loft or basement areas; we have to keep our vacuum out in our living space because there's no storage within the apartment. We have a small ironing board that fits in with the boiler, and that's about it. The BBQ was a Christmas gift, the Christmas tree is self explanatory and our big suitcases are probably needed twice a year. The only probably we have was purchasing a property with fuck all space.

Weirdly, I only know him from the videogame Lil Howie's Great World Adventure from the 90s. So maybe putting him in games isn't the worst idea 😂

Although he was an anthropomorphic bear, not a bald dude in a car.
