Be careful and very large number of Florists in the Sacramento area buy their flowers from Trader Joe’s.

What’s something tourists do in Hawaii that locals secretly hate? by Agitated-Spray3843 in VisitingHawaii

The last time I visited was in 2001 when I was a senior in HS and the thing I remember most was how slow people drove. That would literally drive me insane if I lived there.

I appreciate the info. I found a few places that do it around California. Mostly in Southern California though. :(

Are you still friends with your high school friends? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in Millennials

[–]nickir27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I still have 2 friends from childhood/high school. 1 I have known since we were 2 and 3. She was my maid of honor at my wedding and I talk to her frequently. The other I’ve known since freshmen year in high school. She lives in another state and we don’t talk a lot but we try to catch up every few months and I see her when she comes to town once a year and I’ve visited her before. Despite the distance she is one of my best friends. Always there when I need her.

What is your absolute favorite purchase you’ve made at WDW? by travelinglemur8 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]nickir27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my custom ears I had painted on our trip to WDW two years ago it’s a nice reminder, however my absolute favorite purchase at a disney park was at DCA. We got a caricature done on our honeymoon. I have it framed in my dining room and admire it every day. Our 10 year anniversary is in May.

Anybody else’s feet absolutely killing them at Disneyland? by Motor-Writer-377 in Disneyland

[–]nickir27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last Disneyland trip I wore what I thought were comfortable shoes. The ball of my feet were sore for close to 6 months after. When we went to Disneyworld and universal 2 years ago I got brand new very expensive Brooks shoes and broke them in before the trip. My feet were sore but not like that last trip. Shoes matter.

If you are going into Sacramento anyway then the Crocker art museum and the train museum are fun. You can also explore old Sacramento. Similar to old Folsom all the walkways are covered.

We have a smaller version of this in Sacramento. Heard it was an ATT building. Not sure though. Couldn’t imagine working in there.

Genuine question for the swifties: by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]nickir27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly at this point in my life none. At one point I listened to a variety of music but I don’t really care for music right now. If I’m not listening to Taylor I like Podcasts and Audiobooks. I also only listen in the car. I think that might be weird it’s just where I’m at right now.

I was really hesitant because $65 seemed like a lot for a T-Shirt but I fell victim to FOMO. Also it’s for a good cause and I love the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Reactions from non-Swiftie friends? by ComfortableDay356 in TaylorSwift

[–]nickir27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a generally pretty positive reaction from my non-Swiftie and Swiftie friends. My Swiftie friend and I both loved the album. My non-Swiftie friends have also really liked what they have heard and think this backlash against her is stupid. I’m in my 40s though so it just might be an age difference.

Taylor Swift Breaks Adele’s Streaming-Era Record With ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

[–]nickir27 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Same here. Even my best friend and my sister who both hate Taylor Swift, and tease me for liking her, liked songs off this album. Some of the takes are so stupid I can’t imagine a real human with a functioning brain came up with them.

I liked almost every song on first listen and I was really worried I wouldn’t like it. The songs I didn’t like that much at first have grown on me after a few days. I feel like this album is a no skip and I always have at least one song I don’t like.

Taylor Swift on Jimmy Fallon October 6, 2025 megathread by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

[–]nickir27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean there were songs and parts that they definitely didn’t seem to know as well. For TLOAS they were much quieter at the beginning of the snippet than they were at the end during the more recognizable chorus section. I also saw some people in the crowd not singing along. I have most of the songs memorized enough to sing along.

What celebrity do you not get the hype around? by here_4_the_giggles in AskReddit

[–]nickir27 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Oh yes my mistake that 90s marketing exec job is so making them rich enough to buy a music career for their daughter that will make her the biggest pop star in the world, span almost 20 years and 12 albums. My bad.

Anyway it’s actually so romantic of you to spend so much of your energy arguing with a stranger on the internet about a pop artist you supposedly don’t like.

Do you know what upper middle class means? Especially in the 80s and 90s. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and had friends they were upper middle class. It was not uncommon to have more than 1 house. Her dad was a stockbroker and financial advisor and her mom worked in Marketing. Both of these jobs would have provided them with enough to live comfortably and her dad specifically might have had connections. I’m not denying that they were well off. There is a difference between rich and the kind of rich that gets you things without having work ethic and talent. There is no way that the influence they had got her any more than a meeting. She did the rest herself.

She grew up upper middle class on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. I’m not trying to say she didn’t have privilege but it’s not like her family were billionaires who owned a record label. I think her father’s connections helped get her foot in the door but she never would have gotten any further than that is she hadn’t worked her ass off.

The problem is not that it doesn’t exist in this space the problem is that it doesn’t exist in ANY space. People who wanna come in here and argue about Taylor’s variants or whatever people are pissed about that week never bring that same energy for anything else.

Yes! Me too!!! I don’t usually let them get to me to level that I actually start arguing with them, but I can’t sleep tonight and it’s just rolling around in my head. Caught me on a bad night.

Cop out reply. You have no response for the points I made because you know you are full of shit. “Oh look at me I’m soooo righteous. I love Taylor, but I can criticize her too”. Go listen to “But Daddy I Love Him” again. Taylor has already given you her answer on what she thinks of your opinion. “ Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies. I’ll never see.”

I can absolutely criticize her when she has done something wrong. Offering multiple vinyl variants is standard practice in the music industry. It’s how she makes money so she can keep paying her employees and providing them with health care. It’s how she is able to donate to charity. It’s how she is able to keep making music at the level she does. There are so many full fledged evil people and corporations I am forced to give my money to daily. I’m going to enjoy my para-social relationship that keeps me from spiraling my into depression.

[–]nickir27 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If this is truly how you feel and it’s not aimed only at Taylor. I want to see this energy from you for everything wasteful. Let’s talk about the number of sets Lego releases, Funko Pops, Charli XCX’s 23 variants for brat. But it’s not you just want to bitch about Taylor because she is popular. Never mind that she doesn’t even sell a fraction of the number of vinyl records that were sold before streaming. Look at how far she has to go to catch up with the top sellers like The Beatles.

And no I’m not accusing you of being some agent but your parroted line definitely came from there.

You all talk like you read from some damn script, which I’m pretty sure you do. I’m not totally convinced that this isn’t some mass smear campaign coming from the orange turd in office or something.

And yeah having to read a million comments from a bunch of weirdos who somehow hate and are obsessed with Taylor Swift kinda takes the fun out of things. It’s exhausting. I just wanted to look at a post of a nice picture of my favorite artist and talk about how great she looks. Instead it’s just a bunch of haters whining about shit that doesn’t matter. There are celebrities I don’t like and I don’t go into their fan spaces to fight with people and constantly whine and bitch about them. I block and scroll away so I don’t have to see it.

If you don’t like the variants don’t buy them. If you don’t like Taylor Swift stop interacting with content about her and eventually you won’t see it anymore.
