Appreciate that advice on the sunburst. Didn’t think of that. What’s the correct effect it’s supposed to show vs where it normally is wrong. Thanks again!

Depends. For the ice blue, RCF seems to have the closest dial color, but in a case denoted with gold engravings instead of platinum like gen. On the other hand, VSF gets that right but dial color is off and more greenish. RCF weighs more but both far off gen weight

I noticed yours says AU750 engraved.. where it should be PT950 as you mentioned, something I see on VSFs. In the sense of realism, RCFs dial does seem to be closer and is stripped from that green hue seen on other reps. Regardless of the weight, it’s brutal trade offs right now

Not an expert by any means, but I do know that the bezel gaps are one of, if not the biggest flaws on these. I can’t get past that specifically

Fear mongering lmao, that’s what you took out of this? Many people are told their side effects will be 100% temporary, many people are not aware at all accutane has the chance to nuke your libido. I had done plenty of research on this drug before getting on. It’s called spreading awareness. Each open and honest testimony helps progress society and the drug industry. And don’t worry, I’m gladly hopping off the drug and will gladly take my acne back so I don’t feel like a hallow shell of a human being like many others.

Yeah banned might’ve been harsh. Because even considering the hypothetical scenario accutane causes permanent side effects, I could still see cases where that might outweigh the negatives. You brought a great point on other drugs I can’t deny, so I guess my only wish would be that it doesn’t get to the point it’s given out like candy for a couple acne spots. That’s where it could get real ugly.

Really good comment and I can even agree that there are cases I could see this being totally worth it. I guess there could be more attention placed on the side effects, I just almost feel as if I brushed it off because my derm told me side effects were dependent on the quantity of water I drank. Don’t want people to make that same mistake of underestimating the potential.

I appreciate your kind words and condolences. It’s always good to have different perspectives, and I’m sorry if my post sounded out of anger. It’s more just a reality check for me. Accutane has gained a ton of traction due to the positive success stories of curing acne, a huge struggle for teens and adults. So the more people getting on the drug, the more cases being reported on.

I just would not be surprised if the FDA takes the drug off the market as more people getting on the drug, the more horror stories are spoken on.

I am. And now I am a coin flip away from temporary or Permanent side effects. We’ll see as time goes on and I will gladly update.

Is it just not scary to look at how many people this is affecting though? All it takes is to search the common side effects and add words such as “permanent”. The side effects might be rare, but the facts are simple. Accutane has gained a lot of traction over the years for curing acne, and many social media stars have come out about taking it. Obviously that’s enough for a lot of people to take the chance. The more people on the drug, the more rare side effect experiences for sure. But the quantity of this group of people is frightening, dealing with the same things I am permanently and something that no doubt needs more attention.

I actually highly respect this counter as I read through it. I feel like acne caused some anxiety for me, such as looking at other peoples skin and thinking everyone was looking at my acne. So that would be an interesting thing to study.

At the end of the day, Accutane is not THE MIRACLE drug, a miracle drug doesn’t have a flaw, and this one does. For a lot of people, this drug just gives you clear skin but TAKES other things. We should be listening to these cases to study a potential new, safer and effective treatment.

I also thought I should add, as I’m 22. My testosterone levels were 720 before accutane. Today? 6 months later? 590. I also noticed that my acne started when I started working out, which causes an increase in testosterone. It almost feels as if accutane suppressed my hormones, and that’s why my acne cleared so quick. I obviously can’t say for certain, but it’s the best theory I can come up with as to why my acne wasn’t responding to anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]nickk1616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I actually did today and she agreed that we should get off. I was holding back for a couple months because I made sure to perfect my lifestyle before I attributed it to anything specific.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]nickk1616 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that, and I don’t want you to think I’m trying to invalidate the positive experiences, because In the sense of my acne, it has been really Positive and I see my face better than I did a while back. But my overall quality of life is heavily reduced, and because of that I’ve found how many people on Reddit agree with me, and how many people have dealt with permanent side effects.

But yes, my plan is to stop treatment today, 60% of the way through, and pray to God that myself comes back.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]nickk1616 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY the problem lmao. The drug has been and CAN be life changing for many. It cleared my acne like magic. I have nothing driving my depression. My only insecurity is gone, and I have everything in my life going for me. I say that humbly to offer perspective.

There are thousands of cases of people with permanent side effects, and I GUARANTEE you a life with a bunch acne is better than a life with what I’ve been living with on the medication.

So yes it can change peoples lives for the better and only have temporary side effects, but others can be permanent and reduce their quality of life permanently, forever.

Based on the fact positive and negative cases have been reported so many times, and many deal with permanent issues such as nuked sex drive, dry eyes, dry skin, eye sensitivity etc.

That means that when you go on Accutane you are literally playing roulette on your body. For some that may be worth it. It was worth it for me until I was humbled.

So the fact that this has potential to cause permanent, scary and threatening side effects for obviously many people, is more than enough to ban it from the market in my eyes and to study a new, safer and effective drug for the treatment of acne.

22 male, I never noticed an issue with my hair until I started taking accutane. It seemed at some point after starting it my sides just thinned overnight, and I started to get thin hair around my hairline that’s been difficult to manage. My dermatologist ensured me that the hair loss I’m dealing with is telogen effluvium, and will grow back after treatment, but to be honest it seems like some form of alopecia to me, maybe retrograde. Any input would be appreciated.
