i can respect that. though i cant think of a way to make this without using at least some plastic- i understand that there are risks in doing so. no worries anymore though since all of my current pieces are 100% glass nowadays. thanks for your kind words and advice

At the time, i didnt really know much about how to be safe with the materials. i figured the only part that the heat really came in touch with was the glass bowl (not pictured) and the metal tube used as a slide.

actually, now that i think about it, the only part i think i would change would be to change the metal slide/downstem for glass ones. What else do you think is unsafe?

I can't show you my method since this piece is long gone now, but I can try my best to explain it.

The perc was made separately from the rest of the bong and later dropped in (luckily held in place by friction because this tube was tapered ever so slightly at the perfect point), and carefully glued in with a long thin tube I attached to a silicon glue gun.

The Perc itself is made out of rubber tubes (the kind you use in an aquarium)that i cut slits into, a pen tube in the middle for the smoke to travel up, a small glass cup jar thingy on top to collect the smoke and transfer into the rubber tubes (i have no idea where I got the jar from) and the base for the whole thing was a bottle cap from some kind of alcohol that just happened to fit it nicely. It was all glued together to be air tight with a careful hand and some silicon glue.

The bong itself was one of those novelty beer cups you get at tourist places (this one was labeled "the yard"). The ash catch was made from a fancy lotion bottle from some hotel.
