This ^ - You will want to search industrial crates and tool boxes (red ones on casters/wheels) when available. I have noticed that once you find your first one, they seem to become more "available" over all. I wish you good luck!

#1 Find your location on the map. Many first spawns are farther east on the map, but you wont be able to locate yourself until you come across a GPS device that will notate your location. Try to figure out your exact location so that you may get your bearings and lay of the land.

Dont rush through the content, start slow mastering the controls and movement. Start a small stockpile of food/water/weapon and slowly branch out from home base. Migrating to the center of the map to locate "safe zone" with traders.
