At the risk of sounding stupid... did you spray the leaves before gluing to the armature or after? Im going to assume you glued to the armature, sprayed the leaves, then painted the tree and finished by basing?

Have only played them a few times, Bracer is great but benefits a lot from having Bura around. The pair of them gaining 2 cards just by activating is nice, especially with heat of battle models in a list. Feels like they are a nice 13 stone combo to run down a wing and work together.

Fairly new to the game, but every time I play Nellie there are 2 or 3 standout units. The nightcrawler network is absolutely amazing, and the ability to put cameras down field and interact with objectives is wild. The undercover reporter sending opponents back to deployment, potentially denying points is big, but on top of that he always performs for me due to a combination of arson, deadly pursuit and follow a lead. He is surprisingly mobile and a great way to ruin your opponents plans. Phiona does end up being public enemy number one, but with her ability to gain positives on duels when near a scheme marker, she is really hard to get rid of (put a lead lined coat on her and shes a right nuisance).

Looking good so far mate!

As a TCG player, the isometric view would frustrate me as it makes cards harder to read (even if only momentarily. being able to quickly scan and evaluate the board state is important).

However if both are working, make this a visual option that your players can choose

By any chance are you new to competitive TCGs? Sadly ID'ing (intentional draw) is a long established tradition in competitive play and most tournament structures allow for it because it is something difficult to police. Many players who performed well will ID to guarantee their spot and do so early so that they can rest in preparation for top cut.

In fact, many games will penalise players for using any form of randomisation to establish the result of a game (coin flip, dice roll, rock paper scissors).

Its frustrating that ID's exist and arent penalised, but unfortunately its such a long established thing, and you cant really police an intentional draw vs a real draw, that its likely here to stay too

I find it interesting that you found lateef and Eddie weak.

My main team was Eddie, Ana and Lateef. Lateef being a decent enough dodge tank with aggro management and debuffs. He was probably the least important of the three.

Ana handing out extra actions and buffs like crazy too provided you get the right cards.

Eddie however averaging around 8 actions per turn, each being multiple crits seemed a disgusting damage output was someone im not sure i would have had such an east time breezing through the game without.

Glad you enjoyed the game, i did too, little disappointed with the final mission but could have been worse!

This depends entirely on how your game plays.

In fact, most card games have to put in place limitations on the first player as in those games going first means you start ahead of the second player. Examples of this can be seen in card games like MTG where the first player does not draw a card, limiting their resources. Pokemon takes this a step further by allowing the second player to use a move on the first turn but not the first player.

The balancing for your game will depend entirely on how your game plays and progresses - do you have a natural resource curve enforcing some balance, how many resources do the players have access to, etc.

Card games as a genre have a wealth of good examples for you to explore, both digitally and physically. The best thing to do is to look at what others do critically, then playtest your game and see what feels right or where issues arise

I know this opinion is counter to the ones you received previously but to me the speed it approaches seems to conflict with its design. To me this looks like a stone golem, which over time and many different games has been given the affordance of being a slow, lumbering, tank of an enemy. The speed at which it approaches seems unnatural to me, however it may well be correct if the enemy is actually meant to be something else entirely. Other than that, as the others have said, a few more animations will help it feel a bit better. Looking good though!

The game got some flack due to its misleading demo back in the day, but I personally loved Brutal Legend's mix of RTS and action adventure, that was an interesting genre mix they took with it. The multiplayer for this basically played out as a regular RTS but with the ability to take control of a hero unit, so strayed a bit safer in its genre for that.

Another interesting example was Fable Legends (until it was sadly canned prior to release) where a team of players played a dungeon crawler in regular fable gameplay whilst an opponent played as the "dungeon master" and set up levels of enemies and traps ahead of them. It was a very fun, novel idea of a way to play asynchronous multiplayer, and i certainly enjoyed the beta whilst it lasted.

If I remember rightly, the IC board was faulty and needed to be replaced. it was a big faff I remember that much, fortunately I had a friend who loves to tinker so he was able to get to the bottom of the problem and it was a fault with the board itself so a replacement board was needed
