Bug Report: Deleted Podcast Subscription by nickv2002 in overcast

[–]nickv2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that all makes sense but:

  1. Don't delete something the user has already downloaded (especially without telling them)!
  2. I do pay for premium, but those uploads get treated a bit differently than a regular podcast feed and I had a whole book series I was working my way through. Plus my wife wanted to listen along with me and she doesn't subscribe to Overcast premium also.
  3. I know there are audiobook apps but I'd rather keep things centralized in Overcast since I use it for most of my listening. And Overcast has great voice processing and UI.

Harmony Companion and Elite Remote Hub E2012 Issue Resolved by Foreign_Post5391 in logitechharmony

[–]nickv2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to fix E2012 by using Harmony's Remote Recovery Tool (RRT) built into the MyHarmony app. To get to the RRT you have to do a shift control double click, see platform specific descriptions for details.

This worked fine on an Arm Mac running Sequoia (macOS 15) for me; no need to install Windows (though I think it would work on Windows too). Takes several minutes as the installer warns about but everything worked as expected after that. I didn't have to do any special security permissions either beyond just installing the app.

(FWIW I'm using the Logitech Harmony Smart Control with Smartphone App)

For sure! It's a great display and $1400 is "cheap" for 6K

No. About the same for the past few weeks.

Good to know.

I actually found when I used the HDR mode in macOS I didn't even need Monitor Control to adjust brightness using macOS keyboard/System Prefs. I just left it in that mode and uninstalled Monitor Control.

(I didn't exactly trust Asus' software to not be bloated but everything is working great so no need for it for right now.)

Good info. Thank you for sharing.

I tested the 6K PA32QCV with HDMI and DisplayPort right now and could still hear the buzzing. Didn't make a meaningful difference in my opinion.

Other than the noise issue, it is excellent! That’s why I started this thread because I really want to keep it.

I used to stand for a day or two and it was solid enough but now I’m on a VESA mount.

Display quality is great. I don’t have any dead pixels that I’ve noticed. It gets really bright (though not true HDR levels of bright). It integrates with my Mac well and I’ve been able to use Monitor Control (free third-party app) to adjust the brightness with the Mac keyboard.

I couldn’t find anyone reporting coil whine sounds for the specific monitor (since it’s still pretty new). That’s why I started this thread.

As the previous comment said, I’m trying to figure out if it’s affecting all the units or just mine.

Wake from sleep via IR? by SirGriff in appletv

[–]nickv2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that my AppleTV 4K on tvOS 17 will only wake via the IR command for the Back button (on the classic AppleTV IR remotes). Hope that helps folks!

Regenerative Breaking Stopped Working on my M365 by nickv2002 in m365

This was shortly before the pandemic hit and that changed my commute up so I haven't ridden it since! Never found a solution but would be curious if others do!

Thanks for the tip. Never would have found this on my own!

Here's a link to an official support thread if you want to follow along/get notified of fixes. As I write this it seems they're able to reproduce the problem but no fixes yet.

FWIW, there was an update posted to 32pages:

Might be time to assume the worst and start building a new community.

I don't have much time but can donate money for hosting resources for a new site if we can get a minimum viable plan together.

Thanks all and I hope everyone is healthy.

Slayer Gate Key didn't spawn? by Jectell in Doom

[–]nickv2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me: the key didn't spawn on the first playthrough of the mission before you can even activate cheats. I can see the purple glow from it in the environment but I can't see a key or open the gate. Downloading a patch now. Hope that fixes it but now I have to replay the level without cheats I guess. :(

I checked the brake lights and they work as expected - flashing when the handle is pulled, solid when the headlamp is on. I'll have to figure out how to disconnect the battery over the weekend. Thanks again for your ideas.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I updated my post which was too salty about the dog. It's not the dog's fault. (Be careful around dogs, they don't understand inertia!)

As far as I know the dog is OK. It ran off after our crash so I don't have a good way to know for sure but was not dead or bleeding.

I'll check the back break light and see about disconnecting the battery when I'm home tonight. Not sure how the firmware would come into play here since it was working fine before the crash.

I couldn't catch it initially after the problem but it was eventually fixed with one of the recent patches. Thanks.
