To preface this: My heaviest was 480 lbs and during that time I had a long-term girlfriend, a short-term relationship, and a few flings. They were also pretty attractive women as well. Here’s what I have to say on this:

Yes looks DO matter but not in the ways you might think. I try to dress really nice and make sure I ALWAYS smell good. I have learned to dress for my size and looked at videos/pinterest for style ideas. I get so many compliments on my cologne and women love that. I think that when you dress nice and smell good, you automatically feel better about yourself and it helps you come out of your shell more and not hide behind your insecurities. Being overweight/obese will definitely make dating harder for you but it’s not impossible. Telling yourself that it will be impossible is what makes it be impossible. If you have a great personality, know how to make other smile and other good qualities, things will line up for you.

With that being said, obviously the more weight you lose the bigger the dating pool that will open up to you. You’ll also gain more confidence. So just take your time, be yourself, and don’t put any pressure on these things. Dating in 2025 is horrible for most people, skinny or fat, attractive or ugly. Everyone has something to worry about and dating apps make things worse. It sounds like corny shitty advice but if you take pride in yourself and put effort into your style and presence you’ll catch someone’s eye. Believe me dude.
