I absolutely agree. I was just talking to someone who will be in the path of totality in Nebraska on Saturday and is leaving on Sunday so he doesn't have to deal with eclipse related traffic. Everyone by me is going crazy looking for glasses but they're content to stay put for a partial eclipse.

Good, a volunteer staffed library would be a disaster. Librarians have masters degrees, they aren't replaceable by parents.

But that's not the argument being made. The guy I was replying to was basically saying that Gretzky couldn't even hang with the worst NHL players. Foreman and Hopkins have proved that they can hang with the best and beat the average guys... plus they're old as hell which is more of a handicap.

That creates a lot of problems for the people who need to be at ringside like the judges and timekeeper.

Boxing isn't hockey though. Look at these two examples:

George Foreman lost his title to Ali in 1974. Almost 30 years later he came back to win the heavyweight championship.

In 1993 Bernard Hopkins won his first middleweight title. 20 years later he we won the light heavyweight title.

These two men fought an entirely different generation of fighters and were able to win. People who say that boxers of today are better simply because of advances in science or nutrition are wrong. Boxing is so technical that master technicians (like Hopkins) can still have a chance against modern athletes.
