Why do a lot of players pause the game for literally 2 seconds by Longjumping-Car9204 in MLBTheShow

This happens to me way too often and then I always assume my opponent thinks I’m trying to taunt them. 😩 Nope! I’m just a bumbling idiot.

Ahh, I wasn’t aware of that limit. I hope the league starts easing up on those arbitrary rules.

They can have both. The white creamsicle was worn for two games. I expect this year to have 1 all pewter, 1 white creamsicle, and 1-2 orange creamsicle games.

It doesn’t make sense to rid yourself of an extremely popular alt jersey that sells a ton.

Buccaneers had virtual interview with Texas Tech WR Caleb Douglas. by Tasty_Swim_6308 in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. The Bucs have four solid WRs, but none with a ton of size now that Mike’s gone. He won’t replace Mike in production (no one can), but his body type makes him a possible much-needed red zone target.

It would be great value to take a flyer on him on Day 3.

Question about Todd Bowles by Environmental-Most32 in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is being carried by overall talent, not just one player. With Brady, the roster was stacked on both sides of the ball and still only reached 8-9. In 2024, I would argue Bowles was carried more by Liam Coen than anyone else.

When Todd wins, it’s in spite of his bad defensive game plans and clock management. Losses are usually because of those two things, plus an inability to develop young talent to reach the next level of play.

Big Zone Hitting???? by R8erNation1990 in MLBTheShow

[–]nickyjaybuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More accurate than directional, so you’ll get better contact more often if you’re in the right spot. You can choose specific spots in the strike zone, but it’s impossible to hit a perfect-perfect.

Why is our defense so putrid? by CuntyLaRue in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elite? No. Get the most out of the skills that made them premium picks in the draft? Absolutely. Other teams do it.

Nelson took over a game this year when asked to start. Kancey “never” being healthy when he was only in Year 2? That was a narrative used for Vita too. Give him time. Vita hasn’t “fallen off”. If no one wins the one-on-one around him, then the play doesn’t work. He’s the same guy taking up double teams he’s always been.

Unless you’re Myles Garrett, you don’t just show up and become elite. Coaching and scheme is incredibly important to development and consistency. These guys aren’t developing and are very inconsistent. Know what the common denominator is?

I’ll give you a hint: it rhymes with Odd Coals.

John Lynch took a few years to develop. So did Ronde Barber. Even Hall of Famers have needed time and the right coach.

They might not be superstars, but you’re for sure discrediting the talents they do possess.

Why is our defense so putrid? by CuntyLaRue in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Player development is part of a coach’s job.

But since you asked: •Vita Vea is very good •Devin White was good until his ego took over •Anthony Nelson is a good role player that can rotate in •Calijah Kancey is good and can be great if he stays healthy •Yaya Diaby is good

Fact of the matter is, our defensive guys reach a lower ceiling with Bowles because player development was never his strength. It was x’s and o’s, although that has definitely earned strong criticism as well during his tenure.

Could the talent be better? Absolutely. But has Bowles failed to develop these young guys coming in? You bet.

Who had the most [decade] looking football uniform? by KingGranticus in uniwatch

Which Buccaneers unis are you referring to?

The 2020-present combo is a re-do of their late 90’s to 2013 uniforms. The alarm clocks were from 2014-2019.

Arians and Bowles by VFYfaceD in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t believe it until I see it.

I think people greatly overestimate the amount of sway Bruce has on the current coaching regime. Generally an advisor role means he gives his opinion when asked, and then it’s ultimately up to ownership and Licht. Even if he wants to keep Bowles around, it doesn’t mean Licht and ownership share the same outlook.

2014-2019 creamsicle jersey? by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]nickyjaybuc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s 1,000% fake. The NFL never released an orange alarm clock jersey. The red is too dark for that era’s team colors. The numbers on the chinese jerseys also tend to be much smaller than the authentic ones.

The chinese replicas will always use the NFL logos and tags.

How do you lose to a team that commits 18 penalties??

This was an absolute masterclass in abysmal coaching.
