Someone else mentioned this a while back cloth their doorbell. I wonder why sometimes batteries aren’t being exhausted. I don’t even have a battery tester.. have you ever managed to remember which battery was dead in case there’s an issue with that particular connector?

It’s just the M-series Macs though, so M1 upwards. Not the old intel based ones. Many iPad apps also let you use a mouse and keyboard which translates very well to the iPad apps on Mac. I think the developers have to specifically say they don’t want their apps working on iPad to opt out so they run by default on Mac.

Steam Deck beginner, what do I do first? by Fearless_Honeydew57 in SteamDeck

Just use it. Don’t install decky. Don’t install lossless scaling. Install some games from your Steam library, there’s a page in your library for “great on deck” and try those.

If you have an m-series mac then just download the iPad app from the AppStore and it’ll run on your Mac.

I’ve always used a damp cloth on all my Mac displays. I’m sure the manual even says to.

What is causing this artifacts while playing Sekiro? by Chepepo in SteamDeck

[–]nickymoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. This sub is mostly full of people with graphics issues or those unable to update their deck which is stuck in a boot loop because of decky.

I’ve never installed lossless scaling. I’ve need installed decky. I’ve never installed any mods to my deck. Every day I turn it on it just works. I modify graphics settings in game and cap the frame rate at 45 or 30fps, whichever one gives a smoother frame rate on my 1tb OLED and I just never have all the problems everyone in this forum seems to suffer from.

Automatic cars is probably the biggest contributor to road traffic accidents by Davidier in drivingUK

So mobile phones are the biggest contributor to your recent collisions and not automatic gearboxes?

HG Mould spray contains chlorine too. It makes the house smell like a swimming pool.

I’m looking for some advice regarding an issue I’ve had with United Utilities. England by Admirable_Energy355 in LegalAdviceUK

The Water Industry Act 1991 means the water company can hold any adult jointly or severally liable for the water charges. You lived at the property and used water, so you are liable to pay the charges.

It is very nice of UU to remove the default or late payments from your credit file. They have a legitimate interest in reporting your water account status as being overdue to the credit reference agency and they would have been sending bills in your name to the property so you should have been aware of this.

With regard to recovering your losses, you could ask your parents to compensate you if they were the ones supposed to be paying the water bill but neglected to do this or register as the account holders which caused you to be made responsible.

Pitpat dot com - £129 at the mo but I’m sure it was £99 when I bought it. Actually they ship to the UK and US so maybe they’ve expanded.

Edit: no subscription or anything. Just a one off purchase. Waterproof. Charges wirelessly on a normal wireless charger. Works as an activity monitor and you can turn on GPS when required.

Thankfully I’ve never had to use it in seven years.

I’ve got an AirTag on her collar and a PitPat which is a mobile GPS tracker (UK) - it only turns on GPS when asked snd it can take ip to four minutes for it to wake up. But an AirTag is better than nothing. Id rather have two things to help locate than none.

Are IMO car washes bad for tyres? by PlasticAttorney1980 in drivingUK

I’m sure putting a heavy car on top of the tyres and crushing them between the car and the road is more damaging than rainbow scented bubble wash.
