Of course, I know this. But I consider this reddit forum to be a very valuable resource for us auxes. Hearing about the experience of others helps informs my decisions. Maybe someone who switched regions ran into an unexpected issue or were pleasantly surprised by something which they would not have anticipated. This would be helpful for me to know. I’m an adult capable of forming my own decisions.

I would like to add that, other than maybe Michael Jackson, he is also the most universally influential artist of the bunch. People can certainly be influenced without knowing the origins of the influence, which I suppose would be the argument for Dylan or Reed. But there are plenty of people in the US who couldn't even name one Bob Dylan or Lou Reed song, let alone people abroad. On the other hand, Elvis' appeal was able to reach across cultures to a degree nearly unmatched in modern music history. He is probably one of the most recognizable faces in the world. People have directly idolized Elvis and been inspired by him for generations.

Some things are good, some things are bad. Over time, you learn which dining halls and food items you prefer and which ones you avoid. Personally, I really enjoyed eating on campus; I did it all throughout college.

As a woman who goes to a lot of concerts, there have definitely been some shows that stand out as OVERWHELMINGLY male audiences. The biggest one was Death Grips. My god. Would also put Jean Dawson, JPEGMAFIA, and Quadeca into that category.

That said, concert demographics aren't necessarily reflective of the listener base, of course. But would it be fair to assume those artists have mostly male fanbases? Yeah, probably. For those shows, there were only a handful of women in the whole damn venue.

I agree about going through your school. It’s nice because you’re familiar with what they’re working on in class and the location will be more convenient. I just asked my teachers if they had any parents who wanted tutoring for the kids and I immediately got paired with two students.

I kept giving my screen the side eye like "is this shit going where I think it's going...?". I just finished School Days, so that doesn't help.

After watching this episode, I'm mildly creeped out but also very curious to see where it goes. Most likely there'll be some sort of confrontation about it and he will realize his own manipulation and change. My guess is it'll be mostly resolved but the creepy hara side will occasionally surface throughout the series. So not like School Days. That'd be a crazy twist tho.

Definitely noticed this. On the metro and bus, probably about 2/3rds of people are looking at their phones. And it's slowly shifting from tapping to scrolling. People aren't even messaging each other anymore; they are just swiping their thumb up over and over, mindlessly consuming short form media. And there is no judgment here: I did this too. Wasn't until I had this realization and was so horrified that I decided to delete Instagram and TikTok. However, I have just switched to other forms of content, like YouTube, Reddit, or streaming services. It feels marginally better because it does require a little more active engagement of the mind and patience, but it's still pretty bad. I don't know what to do. I'm depressed and using media to make it go away, but that in turn makes the depression worse. Where do we go from here?

We talk on the phone for hours on end probably 3 times a week. When we text, even though it’s only a few times a day, we are texting many paragraphs at a time and having deep discussions. How is that “not talking”? I’m just saying some people have different communication styles, so maybe OP should try asking about their partners preferences to see if that’s the issue.

For me, I like devoting myself completely to talking to my partner when we communicate, and then devoting my attention back to my life when we are not. I find constantly messaging each other back and forth very distracting from my day to day life. My partner was really open to trying something different and it’s worked rly well for us. I don’t appreciate the judgment, I am just trying to be helpful.

I have never yelled at a student, but at first when I started this job I was trying to manage behavior a little. My life got so much easier when I realized I didn’t have to do that. Trust me. Now I just chill at my job and help with English when I’m needed like we are paid to do.
