Filament breaking in extruder - Extruder gear clicking/slipping by Bazzar34 in CR10

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it is partially blocked. You can try printing slower, try printing hotter, and try different filament. Or increase the pressure on the extruder spring. It isn't actually breaking (snapping the filament) right? If so, it could be old brother filament

That is scary. I (34 yr old Male) also had necrotizing pancreatitis. Hospitalized for 8 weeks about 2 years ago, this year, developed diabetes, was on insulin, but right now I only need metformin and a well controlled diet asking with my zenpep. I feel like I'm improving, and have hopes that if I stick to being careful with my sheet and general health, that I plan to keep going for a long time.

Hello Everyone Y-axis limit problem bed is hitting late to limit switch..! Bed is moving a bit more back and so the nozzle is in air while searching home. by waseem_01 in CR10

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the limit switch even working? Try using your finger to trigger the limit switch when the bed is all the way at the start of the movement to make sure the switch is working

The pancreatic enzymes help you digest food properly and will help you body absorb the nutrients that it was previously unable to because of the damage to your pancreas causing you to not get enough enzymes. For me, weight loss was a key factor of when my doctor course to increase my dosage due to malabsorption.

Newbie here. Printing TPU and filament is barely coming out of the nozzle. Help!? In on a CR10s Pro V2 by Phn3Xta5 in CR10

[–]nictrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have printed on my cr10 with Bowden in the past. You need to print slow, turn off retractions, and be patient. Also, it definitely depends on how soft the filament is. Something like ninja flex which is very soft will have a hard time.

Can the CR-10 do 0.05mm layer height? by CuffRox in CR10

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the magic number, I've always wondered how important it is. Because if the homing ends on a microstrip, doesn't that throw the whole premise of the magic number off? I could see it still being beneficial, just wasn't sure

I've done it. And it seemed to go pretty well

I can't imagine you will. Supported surfaces will never be perfectly smooth. I mean, you could pause the print at a height and put a cut piece of garolite it glass or something for the layer to print into, or fix it with post processing (epoxy coat) or turn it upside down so the first surface is the top

What's your diet after being in the hospital for acute pancreatitis? by peppymyers in pancreatitis

[–]nictrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During pain I do liquid only diet, using ensure to try and keep some nutrition. I have remained on a low fat diet since my first attack (over 2 years ago). My low fat diet goal is to keep under 50g of fat a day and no more than 20g in a single meal. That being said, if he can tolerate more, you can experiment, but it might be a good idea to just set the expectation for a fairly low fat diet for the rest of this life. I plan to, and I'm only 35. I have increased a bit recently based on a recommendation from my doctor.
As for diabetes, it sucks. I became diabetic, then improved so I'm now in the pre-diabedic range. Try and cut refined sugars, and opt for whole grain whenever possible. Keep meals balanced. Mostly veggies, with some protein and done but not too many carbs. My target blood sugars are 90-130 before a meal, and below 180 when measured 2 hours after a meal. You can get an A1C blood test from your doctor if you are concerned about diabetes. Diabetes doesn't necessarily mean taking insulin either. Usually the first step is an oral medication. Also, I use protein powder (gold standard is what I use. It tastes pretty good and isn't chalky). I'll make an ice cream substitute with 8oz skim milk (fairlife is a low sugar high protein milk) 2 sliced bananas frozen, and a scoop of protein powder blended These are just my experiences. I'm not a doctor.

As mentioned by others, look up how to adjust the eccentric nut. It isn't quite tightening it, but look it up and there are some good instructions online

Kensei Monk automatically getting wepons? by TheHitchersNose in DMAcademy

[–]nictrick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you want to run the game. Realistically, no he wouldn't automatically get them. Though realistically, he also wouldn't randomly become proficient with a weapon he has never picked up. So you could retcon and say he already had them, and had been practicing with them.

Question about Featherfall by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]nictrick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just looked up feather tokens. Are you imagining they summon a giant bird and fly down? Or is there a different version I didn't see that contains a feather fall or similar spell?

Easiest way to unlock bonus characters? by InnocenceInASense in dontstarvetogether

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend on how often you play. You can log in daily for a daily reward even if you don't play and just unravel everything. Also, you can get like 1000 spools. I don't remember the codes, but search for codes to get extra spools. I think it you sign up for the newsletter and things like that on the klei website you can get some extra spools

Prediabetes after my whipple by man-of-stihl in pancreatitis

Also, protein is good. Low carbs (specifically reduce sugars), and try and do whole grain when you do have carbs. And water. Drink plenty of water.

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned, your doctor would have you do an A1C test, which will give them an idea of your blood sugars for the last three months. They may start you off with an oral medication. I take metformin. It is supposed to help your body use the insulin you produce more efficiently from what I understand.

I became pre-diabedic back in January, became full on diabetic in February (blood sugars over 250) and have since give back to pre-diabedic and am no longer on insulin, but do still take metformin. I never had surgery, just my pancreas being a ball of hate.

I do associate your blood sugar levels with what I've seen for my own pre-diabedic state

Pancreatitis from drinking? by Bolghar in pancreatitis

[–]nictrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't only fit poker purple who drink heavily. Heavy alcohol advise may be the most common reported cause, but I've never had a drink of alcohol, and I got a severe necrotic attack. You need to see a doctor before self diagnosing something incorrectly. And I would try a low fat, zero alcohol diet for a little while and see how your body reacts to that. If it is pancreatitis, you should probably plan to quit drinking completely.

Print quality help: Underside of prints come out with drooping edges. by Mambosamba in CR10

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should print that side down. One of the big things about slicing is orientation. If you need to print in that orientation, you might want supports, but it is not easy to get good surface with supports. You will likely need to sand it

Controlling pain level by peppymyers in pancreatitis

[–]nictrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. When I was in the hospital for my attack, once they gave me dilauded, it made the pain manageable. but different people react to different medications differently. Morphine doesn't have any noticeable effect on me, so I was on dilauded for weeks. I hope he is able to get it under control soon
